Do you like the name Mette? I'm pregnant with our second child. Our son has (also) a Scandinavian name; Sten.

    I know a “Melle”, not sure if it’s a Scandinavian name but I’ve only heard it once for a boy and I think it’s super cute. Mette takes some getting used to

    Thanks again! @Chantal, does it help if the name is for a girl ? We're having a daughter, actually, but I didn't mention that above. The name appears, for example, in the name Mette-Marit of Norway, the crown princess of Norway.

    Oh, oops sorry Haha. I've never heard the name anywhere. It's special, and you should always do what you find beautiful

    I've heard it before for a girl, but personally, I don't think it's a nice name.

    Yes, fun

    It suits Sten.
    But not beautiful. Clumsy. Too much 'potato with'.
    Not a sweet name. Metta sounds much better.
    Other Scandinavian names;
    Runa Lykke Ilva Linna Freyja Helle

    Nice!

    Metta does sound softer than Mette. Runa and Lykke are also beautiful options, very Scandinavian. I think Freyja sounds a bit flashy for a boy, but that's of course personal. What do you think of Linna? That's classic and timeless.
