Possible pregnancy due to a torn condom. New boyfriend doesn't want a child.

Just not sure where to put this in the category, but I’ve got something on my mind and really want to get it off my chest. The condom broke, and I’m seeing a faint line on my pregnancy test. My new boyfriend absolutely does NOT want to be a father and said abortion would be the solution. I’m against abortion, so yeah, what now?

Maybe I should test again next week to see if the line gets darker?

Dump that guy and use other contraception. You can ask for emergency contraception at the AH.

But what do you actually want yourself?

Little anonymous one is against abortion or late-term treatment. Yeah, what do I want myself? If I'm really pregnant, I think I'd want to keep it. I'd be standing there (again) alone, but I've also managed it with my other child.

It's not very wise to be against it. I understand that. But think about this potential child. Will they get the life they deserve?

Sometimes there are more important things than your own beliefs.

    Hi anonymous,
It might sound harsh, but burying your head in the sand won't help. A line is a line, so you're pregnant. Hoping it ends naturally in a miscarriage isn't wise. It's better to assume everything will be fine with the pregnancy and start thinking about what you want. Do you want to keep the baby or not? That's a decision only you can make. Talk to your partner, why does he (still) not want children? Tell him what you want, are you ready for a child now? Both emotionally and financially, because a child doesn't live on love alone. Talk to your family, can they support you if needed? Most importantly, don't let anyone force you into something you don't feel comfortable with.

Why didn't you take the PPD after the act? Isn't that a logical consequence?
Are you up for having another child without a father?

If there's a second line on your test, you're simply pregnant; you don't need to test again.
I think you'd do well to discuss with your partner how you're going to move forward. If you don't want an abortion, which I can understand, you might end up facing this alone.
But if your partner really doesn't want children, I don't understand why neither of you took other steps and waited until you had a positive pregnancy test.

I sent my new boyfriend away. He didn't want/had no kids because he thinks it's a rotten world to bring a child into.
I didn't test anymore after the ultra-light line. But I already had to get my period today. Could it still come?
I'll wait until next week to see if I get my red period.
    Otherwise, I'll test again.

You said you already had a child before and were on your own; what's the story there and where is the father?

Having a guy get an abortion and giving the baby a warm home instead of him... You have sex with two people and, in my experience, it's the man's responsibility to check the condom. If he doesn't bring up the possibility of pregnancy and the pill, then in my eyes, he's a dumb jerk.

Best knap een gescheurd condoom en dan zwanger. Vooral als de eerste ook een bijzonder verhaal is. Hoe gaat het nu?

First, reflect on whether you have the means to raise a child and want to bring a child into the world who will feel unwanted by one parent.
You can be against abortion as previously stated, but now you'll really have to make a well-thought-out choice. And sometimes it's not so wrong after all.

Apparently didn't learn from the first time

I never understand how those things can tear, you can just pull them over your legs, right?

Choose a name for your child, sorry, I'm very easygoing about this.

Anyone who absolutely doesn't want to be a father should make sure there's more contraception than just a condom.
    So naive

    I also have a question.
Can you get pregnant during your non-fertile period?

Doesn't seem like a piece of cake, it's still not big enough
  18. Sanne #19

Jo is right. It's pretty significant if you're not ready for it, and that conversation with your partner sounds tough. Taking a test at least gives you some certainty And Nijntje, that really depends on the woman, of course.
