What do you think of the name Melou for a girl?
I'm all about shortening names, so I love that it can be shortened to Mell and Lou.
The only downside is that you can make "melon" out of it, but I don't think we should let that dictate our choice. You can make fun of any name if you want to. I'm curious to hear your thoughts!

    I find the abbreviations nice, but personally, I think Milou/Malou looks better than Melou.

    Thanks, but those don't shorten nicely and we already know them in the area, so they're not going to work.
    I have to say I'm still getting used to it, but it's definitely a serious option. And then pronounced as meh-lou (so no uh or ee sound). So you really hear Mell, especially when shortening it.

    I also think Milou, Malou, or Meilu are prettier.

    If you always want to spell the name and your child always has to explain how it’s supposed to be, what’s correct, and how to pronounce it, then you’re stuck with it. Honestly? I’d either go with Milou or just pick another name.

    Why don't you just make it Lou then? That's nice too, right? Otherwise, I personally think Milou is nicer

    I also don't really like Melou, but Lou is such a cute abbreviation!
