Last night and this night I woke up from sharp pains in my belly. My belly is also quite hard. I’ve been reading a lot online about pain all the way at the bottom of the belly, but with me it’s not just at the bottom. Does anyone recognize this?

    Hi, that could be anything. It could be your uterus growing, practice contractions, or a urinary tract infection. I wouldn't dare to say for sure, but it is quite normal. As long as you're not losing any blood, this isn't necessarily a bad sign.

    Do get checked out just in case, and have them check for a UTI at the GP to be safe.

    Hi Rosa, I'm also 31 weeks pregnant and I had those contractions a little while ago too.
    Tonight I was awake all night, every hour, so to speak... I had an incredible pressure against my pubic bone and "severe" period-like pains (really aching pains in my lower back)... Now I can handle them well because I also have a lot of trouble with that during my pregnancy... Now I think our girl has turned because since the pain is gone I can really feel how she's pushing against my organs with her feet, especially against my stomach.. which is not exactly pleasant all night long, acid and gassy feeling.. Now the pain is gone and when she moves I really feel it pushing up at the top and at the bottom it's more sliding movements..
    So you're not the only one, but if you're not 100% comfortable, just call your midwife or doctor.
    I have to go back for a check-up on Tuesday at 32 weeks and then I'll definitely mention this..

    Thanks for your replies, I feel much better knowing I'm not the only one. Hihi, it's my first pregnancy so everything is new. I think this is a really nice site, you can find or ask almost anything. I have to go for a check-up next week too, I'll let you know. Thanks girls! Love, Rosa.
