Hi everyone!
My boyfriend is 10 years older than me, and his brother is another 10 years older than him. Same with my sister-in-law. She's almost 20 years older than me. I'd really like to meet up with her for lunch, a drink, or some shopping. But I always end up visiting them with my boyfriend. I'd love to hang out with her (and/or his brother) privately, but I don't dare just send her a text or something. How should I best approach this? Because of the big age gap and the fact that we don't have much contact (once every 8 weeks), I find it really difficult. Once we're all four of us together, it's fine and there's always plenty to talk about. Any tips?

I’d just send her a text after the corona crisis. I get that you find that nerve-wracking, but it seems like the least scary option to me. Other options are to call her once or introduce yourself when you’re visiting, but that actually seems even scarier to me. You could just suggest doing something without the men, right? -

My sister-in-law is also 12 years older than me. Of course, some common ground and stuff is different, but we also have fun moments without the men around!
Just send a message and go have breakfast together or something
