I want to name my little girl Blue. What do you think of that name?

Sorry, I really find it ugly.

    I don't find it beautiful.

Honestly, I don't think it's a name. Do you have any other names you like?

    I think it's a lovely name.
And I know of one child with the name Blue. By the way, that's also a girl.

Due to (Beyoncé's daughter), it's become quite a well-known name abroad, but not yet in the Netherlands. I wouldn't personally choose it, but I think it's okay. I don't know any Blue (apart from Beyoncé's daughter haha), but I do know a Bluelle.

Hi! We also had the names Scout & Rebel for our girl. What do you think of those?
  8. Anonymous Guest #9

None of those are my name. I don't think Blue is a name, and Rebel just seems so sad to me. Scout is the best of the three, but I wouldn't choose it anyway.

Umm.. 1 tip: don't ask something like this on a forum... The responses are often harsh and not nice if it doesn't fit within someone's reference frame. The most important thing is that you choose a name that you both find beautiful and that fits you. What people here think about it doesn't matter at all.. Or choose a forum that's a bit less anonymous so that people have to think a bit more about their reactions????

I'm afraid these are the kinds of names that your child might struggle with during her school years... And perhaps won't be taken as seriously in her adult life..
I'd keep searching.. Sky is also such a name, but it's, for example, better accepted...

Well, I think it's a lovely name! I love those unique, fun names, and you're seeing more and more names with double meanings.
    Wolf, spring, storm, London

I’d maybe go with Blue in combination with another name. Like, indeed, Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy.

I didn't think it was a beautiful name. I'm sure you don't think the names of my children are beautiful either. As was said before, do what feels right for you.

I actually find that special names are treated quite mildly on this forum. Just take a look at the Viva forum. There, you sometimes get really torn apart.

I also don't think any of those three are lovely names, but you should do what feels right for you and what you think is the most beautiful name.

Here's another list of names that, in my opinion, have a similar style, but which I would choose sooner:
Charlie, Dani, Eden, Marley, Jackie, Quinn, Raven, River, Rox, Sky, Willow

I think Blue is such a beautiful name!

Sorry, I also don't think much of those names. I don't think Blue is a name in the Netherlands (blue), although I do think the suggestion in combination with another name is much better. (Blue Ivy, Blue Lily, Blue Violet, etc.) That makes the name feel more like a 'name' and also a bit more feminine. Scout (as in scouting) I really don't think is a name, and honestly, I think Rebel is even worse. Imagine getting a timid, shy girl who has such a heavy name. Even when "Rebel" goes for a job interview, she's already a few points behind. Personally, I think Sky, Skylar, Willow, etc., are nice. Or in your style, Scottie or something.

What’s being said above: Names are so subjective! Just choose the name that feels right for you, don’t let a forum or crazy celebrities decide for you!

But to answer your question, I associate Blue with jeans or with depression... Levi’s Blue jeans, feeling blue... And indeed, Beyoncé’s baby Blue Ivy. So I’d avoid that.

Scout is like Blue, the name of a celebrity baby, this time from Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. A bit trendy, and maybe cute when she’s very little, like Rebel, but a bit sad and disadvantageous when she grows up...
