Anxious and scared of a new pregnancy!

Hi everyone. I had emergency surgery on Sunday for an ectopic pregnancy; my left fallopian tube was removed because it was about to rupture. I'm struggling emotionally and also had a lot of physical pain. But... my partner and I really want a baby. So we're already talking about trying for another pregnancy, though we'll wait a couple of cycles to try again until my body has fully recovered. Still, we're already terrified of it happening again. I know that having only one fallopian tube means I have a slightly lower chance of a natural pregnancy and a higher risk of another ectopic. Has anyone here experienced this? Can you actually access IVF if you still have one fallopian tube? Thanks in advance!

Of course. IVF is the only solution if both of your fallopian tubes are missing (for example, due to an ectopic pregnancy). Your fallopian tube is gone. Not your ovaries he

    Hi girl,
Unfortunately, I’ve been through it too. I had to wait 6 months before my gynecologist gave me the green light again. I was nearly dead; there was already so much blood in my belly. But anyway, after five months, I was pregnant again with just one fallopian tube! I understand it’s really hard, especially when the baby was completely intact. That was my case with a beautiful, beating heart ???? I just want to say: go for it (after you’ve recovered), and if it happens again, get it checked right away. Good luck!

So sad that you had to go through this.

Besides physical recovery, mental recovery is even more important. Don't underestimate that.

I wouldn't start IVF yet for sure. That process is lead-heavy and a physical toll.

You hear and read so often that it can work fine with one. Give yourself and your partner time. If fear still dominates, it's not nice! Good luck.
