Pregnant?

Hello dear everyone,
I have a question that maybe doesn't have a clear answer, but I still want to ask it... I hope I can do that here with a clear conscience.
I stopped the pill about 16 days ago... (in the middle of my pack). I sometimes forgot a pill and was in consultation with my gynecologist (where I already have conversations for other issues) about another contraceptive method. I didn't wait until my next appointment and stopped on my own, had unpleasant bleeding, wanted to get off it, and there's no relationship anyway.
I took the pill for about a year and a half and had an average cycle of 28-30 days before that.
Now I had sex 2 days ago, without contraception... (made a somewhat naive and thoughtless choice)
I want to state upfront that, if I were pregnant, the baby would be more than welcome and would grow up in a loving, warm nest. A desire for children has always been there; it just wasn't #1 at the moment.
It's just the question for me now whether it would even be possible/how big the chance is so soon after stopping the pill......
I hope for experiences or responses that are focused on my question, not on the situation.
Thank you in advance.
Greetings, Dani (22)

You stopped the pill 16 days ago, right? Did you have any bleeding in the meantime?

    Do you mean withdrawal bleeding?
    If so:
No, I also took the pill in my early teens and there was no such thing back then. I got my period again at the end of the following month...

I think the chance is slim that you're pregnant since you haven't had any bleeding yet. If you want to be sure, you'll need to take a test, in your case 14 days after your last unprotected intercourse. You could also have taken an emergency contraceptive pill just to be safe.

    Hi Dani!

Since you have no clue about your cycle at all, there's not much to say. I'd just go with the average chance you have as a woman having unprotected sex. But like Melissa also says; two weeks of nail-biting (so for you, still 10 days?). You didn't start the pill again? And consciously didn't choose for the copper IUD? Was he really inside you when he came? I hope for you that the result will be the desired one!

    Hi Dani,

So if I understand correctly, you’ve stopped the pill by now (how long ago?), and two days ago you had unprotected sex without a condom. I want to make it clear that this isn’t very smart, as you probably already know. Without a condom, you’re at risk of STIs since you didn’t have sex with a regular partner, so you probably don’t know if they’re STI-free. Also, to answer your question: yes, you could be pregnant. You can still get the morning-after pill, but if you’ve already ovulated, it won’t work anymore. The only thing I can recommend is to wait and see if your period comes, or not. When was your last period? That way, you can roughly figure out where you are in your cycle. I’d suggest using a cycle-tracking app to get more insight into your cycle. I also recommend using a condom every time, especially if you don’t have a regular partner. Contraception is also wise in this case, but I’ve also stopped using hormonal methods myself. A copper IUD might be a good option for you since it’s hormone-free and protects against pregnancy. Again, dear girl, if you don’t want children at the moment, please be safe. Since we don’t have insight into your cycle, we can’t tell you whether this time around unsafe sex will result in pregnancy. It’s just a matter of waiting.

    Good luck with the waiting.
