Ovulation test

Hello ladies,

I started using the purple CB ovulation tests on day 11 after my first day of my period. I got a positive result for the first 2 days, and since then, I've had a flashing smiley for 6 days... Does anyone have experience with this? According to the online calculator, I should ovulate on the 10th... but even on that day, I got a flashing smiley. Will I still ovulate? Or did I miss it?... I've been trying every other day since I started testing.

I've used these, but never had this happen. How weird!
How do you use them? Dipping?

Yeah, I think it's weird too, hihi, yeah I dip him

Ah, I always thought it was too much work, but I'd actually say that's better because you can really keep a good eye on the timer. Weird, right.
I think I once read somewhere that the flashing indicates a different hormone that rises before LH.
What do the lines look like when you take the test out?

This was my test strip this morning

Hmm, that's indeed light. I find it a bit tricky. I think I'd keep testing, but they're not cheap. Do you have a regular cycle normally?

Yeah, I find it tough too, but somewhere inside I feel like it’s still going to happen. I can’t really imagine that my ovulation has already passed—we’ve been trying since I started testing, hahaha.
I stopped taking the pill at the end of December, and while I was on it, I always had a 28-day cycle.

Anonymous, maybe it's more fun to use a name? That makes it more personal. When was your last period? If you've been off the pill for such a short time, it's quite possible to have irregular cycles for a few months. Do you notice any other signs of ovulation? Ovulation pain, discharge, temperature?

Ah, but it can indeed take a while after stopping the pill for your cycle to return to normal. The first ovulation often takes longer, and you might be irregular for a while after that. Up to a year, I think.
You can certainly make it fun together because once you've ovulated, you are fertile. But I'd stop testing for now and wait until after your first period.
Also expect to get pregnancy-like symptoms for a few months after stopping the pill. Your body needs to get used to the hormones again.

I never really noticed my ovulation myself, but maybe that’s because I was on the pill back then? Maybe I’ll notice it now... hihih but then it could indeed be that it still has to happen, so this month the chance probably isn’t over yet???? hahah

Your body needs to take over your cycle again now. So it's totally normal that your ovulation takes a bit longer to kick in. That's called "post-pill." Your body basically needs to wake up again. While on the pill, the maturation of an egg is suppressed. Some people have a regular cycle right away, others don't. Good luck!
