Pregnant

Hi!

I took my last pill last Monday and had a break. I only had very light bleeding, mostly dark blood and a bit of red. Yesterday I started a new pack again and took an Acton test, which was negative. Today I’ve been having constant twinges in my lower belly—could I still be pregnant? Or did I test too early?

If you've been taking the pill properly, it's almost impossible. I'd just keep taking the pill and wait for the next withdrawal bleed. I've sometimes not had a period at all during the placebo week. My GP said that can happen.

It's possible, but unlikely if the test is still negative and you're taking the pill exactly as instructed. If you're still feeling that way, I'd recommend taking the test again.

Could it be that I took the test too early? I mean, what if that little bit of blood was implantation bleeding? Because if the pill isn't working properly, you don't know exactly when ovulation happened. I'm still having some nausea and also some cramping in my lower abdomen.

Well, anything can happen... But it does sound incredibly unlikely, and on the pill, your period can become much lighter!

How many days after implantation can you test?

Uhm.. I'd stick with 4 days myself, but it depends on how quickly you produce hCG. Testing on your expected period or even a week after is the most reliable.

    Hi ladies
I really want to jump in on this bit about how if you take the pill properly you can't get pregnant...
I just want to say that this is actually possible, I got pregnant twice while on the pill and took it very consistently every morning when I woke up... so I'd suggest testing again in a few days, then you'll know for sure, girl!
