Hi,
I'm really curious. How would you name a girl after the name 'Bert'?

Thanks in advance!

Oh, that's a tough one. The first name that comes to mind is Berta, but I don't find it that beautiful. I think Britt is a really good choice, and the same goes for Brecht/Brechtje.

Berber, Berit, Birthe, Bridget, Berthe, Beertje.

You could also think of Engel. Bert generally comes from Engelbert.

    Bertina

It's not set in stone that Bert comes from Engelbert; it could also come from Albert or Barthold, etc.
Of the above, I like Birthe or Berit!

    Betty, Bertha, Britta, Britte, Brenda

Yeah, I find it tricky too. I’d really like it to be clearly named after someone, but I think Berta is absolutely terrible (I picture a cow... oops!). Bertina could be an option, though. If you have any other ideas, they’re more than welcome. It can also be derived from Bart, but I’m not sure we’d get far with that ;-)

    Bernita

    Berthe

Or a combo name: Berthe-Linn, Berthe-Eva, or whatever short name you like???? The other way around could also work: AnneBerthe etc.

    Surprising tips so far!
I also think dr. combo name is definitely still an option.

    Ideas are welcome

Bert means brilliant or radiant in German. You could also do something with this meaning (girl names with a similar meaning).

I'd rather have a name where the naming is clearly visible. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.
