Pregnant without the maternal feeling

I was trying to get pregnant and I don't feel what everyone says I should feel..
"Do you already feel love for that little creature in your belly?" No..
"Isn't that the most beautiful feeling there is?" What feeling? Should I feel different?
I feel the same as before I was pregnant.. Not more and not less..
Don't get me wrong. I really wanted to get pregnant and have a child. But actually, I'm not the biggest "baby fan" out there. It's only since the last few months (I found the perfect boyfriend with whom I really wanted to seal our love) that I wanted a child. Before that, I didn't even want to think about it. But he seemed like the perfect man to have a child with and I really wanted a little creature of our own, our love child.
When I tell people I'm pregnant, they spontaneously show me their children or grandchildren. They push them into your arms and all I can think is "Yeah, a little crying and drooling baby" while I force a smile around the corners of my mouth.
I'm so afraid that I won't like my child when it's born, so afraid that that special bond I'm supposed to feel will never come..
Any other people in the same situation?

It'll definitely be fine once your baby is born. It's totally normal that you don't find other people's kids that interesting. Neither are yours. Especially early in pregnancy when you don't feel anything yet, being pregnant can sometimes feel unreal. For many women, the feeling only kicks in after they start feeling the baby move, then it becomes real. Or only after the baby is born. And for some, it takes a little longer.
The most important thing is that you wanted to get pregnant, so don't worry—the feeling will come. Don't let others dictate how you should feel.

Oh no, I didn't feel that way either. Even after birth... you always hear people say, oh, once it's here, you forget everything else.
Well, not really. It took me a long time to get used to the fact that he was mine. Not that I didn't love him or anything. But it was more like, okay, now he's here, and now what?
And you don't just forget that birth once the baby is here either. But the maternal feelings do come. Although you still don't have to like other people's kids.

Don't worry, I know by now that this is just normal. When I was pregnant I had the same thing and was surprised that everyone only tells the hallelujah stories, but the real truth only comes out when you press further. It seems like you have to be over the moon, but for me too "the most beautiful thing there is" was something so abstract that I couldn't relate to it. I'm quite down-to-earth and I didn't have much connection with other children either. When my son was just born I had it pretty tough. I was of course proud and happy but I found it quite hard to feel love. I had a lot of pain from the C-section, breastfeeding didn't work, the care I did feel for him felt like such a burden, as if there was a stone on my heart. I cried a lot and wanted to do everything perfectly. I was so overwhelmed by that feeling that I had little room for "enjoying" and "the most beautiful thing there is". Well then you really feel so bad... because you're supposed to love your child "right away". Those dropping hormone levels didn't help either, I suffered a lot from them and could cry all day for no reason. In the end I can say with 100% certainty that it really is the most beautiful thing there is. I'm soooo crazy about him. Everything he does I find fantastic. It's a love that can't be described. Don't let yourself be confused by what you're supposed to feel. It's really going to be okay.
