Roxanne?

Hi,

We're really struggling with our daughter's name. We both think Roxanne is a beautiful name, but I'm worried it's too associated with the song and therefore with prostitution.

Amélie is an alternative, but it's less original, and my husband isn't 100% on board with it...

What do you all think? Especially regarding the name Roxanne?

    I think that's quite nice. Maybe Rosanne? Or Loranne?

    That song isn't sung by Roxette, it's Roxanne, so no, I don't think of the song. The first thing that comes to mind is a tough girl's name If you like tough names, it's a nice one to give to your daughter.

    For me, it just brings up the thought of a tough girl, one with lots of power. ????

    I think Roxanne also just sounds pretty cool.
    No weird associations with it.

    Honestly: Amelie is really beautiful, chic but not too much. I don't think Roxanne is so chic, maybe because of Hazes. I know a nice girl named Laurene (pronounced Loren), also beautiful!
