Duration of menstruation

Hi everyone!
I have a question. For the past 2-3 months, my period has been longer than usual. It used to last 3-4 days, and now it's over 8-9 days. I have a fairly short cycle of 24-25 days. Does this mean my ovulation happens during or right after my period, or am I misunderstanding? Can someone explain this clearly to me? Because some say ovulation is about 14 days after the first day of menstruation, while others say it's 14 days before the next period.

My last period started on October 8th and ended around the 16th. I expect my next period around November 2nd. Would my fertile window then be between the 19th and 23rd, or is it more around the 17th and 21st?

Every woman is different, but generally, ovulation is indeed about 14 days after the first day of your period. But since some women have a bit of light bleeding before their period really starts, it can be confusing when you start counting. In your case, I’d suggest using ovulation tests or just playing it safe and having sex around both periods. Many women do notice other symptoms that ovulation is approaching, like increased libido, more discharge, ovulation pain, etc.
But if you don’t have those, ovulation tests are quite helpful.
