The ovulation test stays light positive.

Hi everyone,
I got a positive ovulation test on 13-09, day 9 of my cycle, which I think is quite early..
Two days later the line was still very faint, and now I tested again 4 days ago just to see what's going on, since I recently stopped the pill and want to see how my body is doing
Now the tests keep showing a light positive, though a bit darker than right after my ovulation.
What does this mean?

I’ve had those faint lines all through the cycle. That’s normal. You only have your peak if it’s even slightly darker or darker than the control line!!

    Did you have intercourse?
If so, try a pregnancy test. If you're pregnant, the ovulation tests will also light up

An ovulation test really has to go off then....

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I've never used an ovulation test before, but I've heard they can sometimes react to hCG too. So maybe wait and see if your period doesn't come, or keep testing to find your peak. Good luck!

Oh, I didn't know you've been like that throughout the whole cycle. Thank you!
We'll wait and see and hope..

That they really pop up when you're pregnant doesn't have to be the case; I tested it back then. For me, the line on the ovulation test was about as dark as the line on the pregnancy test. What you do have is that those lines on the ovulation tests keep rising and don't stay the same. It varies from person to person, but some people have such lines throughout the entire cycle.

I meant that an ovulation test should be positive (same dark or darker) if it picks up hCG. The one in TS's photos doesn't pop like that. But that's not always accurate either. I tried it recently... took an ovulation test when I wasn't pregnant yet. And it popped really hard. Later that day, I got my period anyway...
With my peak, it varies from month to month. Sometimes it pops really hard, and other times it's just as dark.

    Hi ladies,
    Here I am again
This morning I took another ovulation test and it was already super dark within 1 minute, even darker than 2 weeks ago when I had a positive ovulation test too...
Can it really be that I ovulated twice without getting my period? I don't understand anything anymore

    When is your due date?
If you think you ovulated about 2 weeks ago, I’d take a pregnancy test.

Do you have a photo from day 9 of your ovulation test on September 13th?

I’d also take a pregnancy test first.. then you’ll know where you stand. Let us know what the result is? Wishing you lots of success.

I took a pregnancy test yesterday, and unfortunately, it was negative.
My expected period date should normally be October 2nd..
In the photo below, you can see it a bit less clearly because of the flash

For me, that wouldn't be a positive ovulation test from 13-9. The last one you did was more positive. And it also seems more likely that you'll ovulate somewhere in the coming days, since you mention you just stopped the pill. Your cycle needs to get going again.

By the way, it's quite early to test for hCG yesterday if your expected period is on Oct 2nd. And you don't know what your LH levels are now that you've just stopped the pill.

I'd just let things play out for now and keep having regular sex. You first need to get a sense of your cycle.

I think you have a positive ovulation test now, not from the 13th. In my opinion, the one from the 13th isn't positive yet.

Testing positive already when your period isn't due until next Wednesday seems very unlikely to me.

Yeah, definitely tested a bit too early.. I’d definitely wait for your EDD or even a few days after.

I had a negative test with an early test 3 days before my EDD. Our bodies are unique but still the same.. good luck in the coming days!

I think it could also be that your body is trying to trigger ovulation, which is why your ovulation test on the 13th was a bit darker. Then it didn’t quite “work,” and it’s trying again later. Having a peak doesn’t necessarily mean the egg actually released. To see that for sure, you’d need to track your temperature consistently I’d guess this was your peak, not the 13th. And yeah, after the pill, things can still be a bit off. Good luck!!

I only had one cycle myself (after a miscarriage, not after the pill). I believe I got a positive ovulation test on day 14 and day 21 of the second round after the miscarriage. Unfortunately, day 21 was the actual ovulation, and I got my period 14 days later. Is it over now or is it still positive?

    Unfortunately, it's over after all.
    Thanks for your replies

Once the test runs out, you've had your ovulation.
