Ovulation test

GastGuest ·
Good morning!
I used ovulation tests for the first time.
The top 2 are from yesterday, the bottom ones are from this morning.
Does this mean my ovulation was yesterday?
Greetings

    Yes, that's completely right

No, that's not right. Your ovulation is 12-32 hours after your LH peak.
You probably had your LH peak yesterday, but I wouldn't be able to say anything meaningful based on just 4 tests without seeing a trend.
So, read up on how these things work and start testing a bit earlier in your next cycle, testing twice a day with about 12 hours in between.

    Hi Betty,
I've been testing for 7 days now, but the one from yesterday was positive. Before that, they were light positive, and I tested again this afternoon, and it's just as light as this morning.
So, if a test is positive, does that mean ovulation hasn't happened yet?

Right! After a positive peak on your test, it still takes about 12-48 hours until you ovulate. Timing varies a lot because it's different for everyone. If you have sex on the peak day or after, you're definitely in a good spot! But if your peak is fairly regular and you have sex every other day around those days, you're also in a good spot That's why those tests are so handy when they work for you, because you're at least on time. With basal body temperature, for example, you're too late, and I always found that difficult. Good luck!

    Thanks for your explanation.
Should I then base it on my last positive test? (There’s actually an 8-hour difference.)
    Test 1 is from 12pm
    Test 2 is from 8pm

Maybe you should just read the leaflet for a moment?

    Exactly Puck

I don't think the question is weird at all. Usually, your peak lasts for a while (e.g., 24-48 hours), so I'm also curious about exactly when ovulation happens, because indeed, after that peak, it takes a bit before ovulation actually occurs. But I wouldn't stress too much about the exact timing for intercourse, since sperm can survive for a while. So having sex every other day from that peak onwards should be more than enough. Just don't stop too early, but also don't start too late.

Once your test turns the darkest, you'll ovulate within 48 hours (I always do within 24 hours—I also track my temperature alongside ovulation tests, so I'm sure about that).

Well, I do think it's a pretty odd question. The TS has been doing a test for 7 days now, and apparently doesn't know what it means or how it works exactly?

    Thanks for your explanation!
I'll definitely try tracking my temperature next month too.
    Maybe it'll become clearer then.
Today I don't have any fertile mucus anymore and the test is very faint. So I think my ovulation was yesterday.

    Haha, yeah that’s true Puck..
