Forum Baby Names

Feli, Mae, Ailin, Limei, or Gaia

Hi,

My name is Marjolein, and my partner and I are expecting our first baby girl in December! We're torn between five names, leaning towards short, exotic girl names. It would mean a lot if you could share your preferences. Suggestions are welcome too! Thanks in advance!

I voted for Mae, I find the rest quite special and most of the names are just not quite it for me, Mae is a bit more common.. But you guys should go with whatever is the most beautiful name for you. I still think Feli is nice too.

Maybe there's something here for you:
Amé, Arwen, Aster, Aya, Brinn, Cia, Clea, Dali, Dez, Eliz, Erin, Esa, Febe, Gabi, Hila, Ilou, Ilva, Imme, Inoa, Irisa, Isha, Jolé, Jula, Jule, Loé, Luus, Mea, Niké, Nim, Nové, Orla, Phae, Quinn, Rae, Rhea, Rox, Suri, Tove, Viv, Ylvi, Ziva

@Anouk, thank you for your vote! Your suggestions are also nice, how do you come up with so many names? We already struggle with one name and still need at least one more, so we'll definitely consider the suggestions! Thanks a lot!

I think Feli is nice, original. Mae is pretty, but not so exotic. Maybe a combination like Fae?
I don’t like Ailin that much. What do you think of Selin or Malin? Or just Elin!
I don’t think Limei is pretty, but I do like Gaia. I’d write it myself as Chaja.

    Hi Marjolein,

I find names really fun, I don't have kids (yet), but I love helping people think of names. I've already made two lists (boys and girls), sorted by first letter, then by length and other things.
So that's where my whole list comes from haha

I think Feli is the prettiest, followed by Limei. Gaia and Mae feel a bit cliché to me, and Ailin reminds me of garlic and the English word "ailing," which means sickly...
Feli, on the other hand, is such a beautiful name; unique, sounds both strong and soft/kind, nicely short, and easy to pronounce!
Limei is also quite unique, sounds lovely, and indeed has an exotic feel.
