Ovulation

Hi moms!
Last Friday evening I felt an ovulation. Unfortunately, I didn't have any ovulation tests left at home to confirm this. The next day I tested and it showed a 'lighter' purple line. A few hours later, this line was still there, and today - the next day - the line is still almost as visible. How big is the chance that I'm still fertile now, about 40 hours after ovulation? Shouldn't the second line fade faster after ovulation?

I'm dealing with the same thing, pretty much the same but then a solid week after my estimated ovulation. I have an irregular cycle, and today was the first time I used the digital one—it showed a constant fertile smiley, so I'll keep testing with it over the next few days. Maybe an option for you?

Hmm yeah, I'm actually pretty regular. Tough tough????

The LH peak can last up to 48 hours, I believe, so it's not so surprising that they don't run out that quickly. I'd keep testing for a bit longer, but if you're regular, you might be able to trust your gut?

Well, we can only hope! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a moment to give my husband a loving look on the day of ovulation. It was about 40 hours later. Let’s hope fertilization still happened!

Can someone help me with this? I've had this result for 4 days now...

After ovulation, you're still fertile for about 24 hours. More than a day later, the chance of the egg being fertilized is practically zero. However, sperm can survive for around 5 days on average, so if you had sex before that, you could still be pregnant. Or if the pain you're feeling is from just before ovulation—like the pressure of the egg—your ovulation might have been a bit later. So there's not much more to say. Unfortunately, it's just a waiting game. Good luck!

oooh! yes, I really feel a pretty bad pressure/stabbing sensation on the left or right for a day. Is this usually right before ovulation? then it would indeed increase the chance!

Hi Debbie! The pain is indeed before the jump, but 40 hours is pretty long! Did you not get a chance for that?

No, we decided to start trying on Sept 1st. So I took a test the next day (the first test in the photo), which would have been from ovulation itself. That means we had intercourse about 28 hours after ovulation. I'll take another test today to see what happens

Wow, what a coincidence that your first test was a positive one right away! That's how it often goes We're usually intimate 2-3 times a week, so you're pretty much always on track with your chances. Then you just need to hit the jackpot!

haha yeah, actually makes sense, right? But since I felt that pain every month, I knew I had to test. I thought that you ovulate at the time of the pain, instead of after the pain.

Yesterday was my expected period. I took a test but it stayed negative. My cycle has been a bit unpredictable over the last 3 months. Last month it was only 24 days and the month before 25. I'm now on cycle day 25. We're just waiting calmly!

Last cycle wasn't a hit, which was expected since we only had intercourse after ovulation. The following cycles we went for it, and with result; pregnant! Thanks for all your tips
