Fun facts before and around Nod

Dear future moms,

I’d really like to share my story with you because I can hardly believe it myself. I’m already a mom to 3 kids, though with the same partner. We really wanted a 4th child, so I stopped taking the pill. So I stopped in June and normally always had a cycle of around 30 to 32 days. What I’ve always had when I stopped the pill was some brown discharge or light pink spotting around ovulation.

But here’s where it gets interesting. On July 9th I got my period neatly.
Around July 21st I had some brown discharge, so I thought it was ovulation, so I had plenty of sex on July 23rd. I had some brown discharge again, which I normally only have once. I thought okay, you can always have it before, around, or after, so no panic.
On August 2nd there was some light pink blood on my panty liner. I thought okay, this round it’s a hit, this is implantation bleeding, although I’ve never had implantation bleeding before in my 3 other pregnancies.
On August 5th I had a blood test done by my GP because I also had to go to the toilet every 5 minutes and sometimes felt like I had a bladder infection, and she told me then that this is very normal during early pregnancy. In the evening I was allowed to call for the result, but it was negative. She also told me I had to come back at the end of the week to have my blood drawn again because it might have been too early.
In the meantime, during that week I really had the feeling of being pregnant.
Frequent urination, swollen breasts, more small bumps around the nipple,
I also craved fries that week and an hour later I was so nauseous and had stomach pain and diarrhea, sorry for the wording lol. Then I really thought okay I’m pregnant, this can’t be anything else, even my gut feeling told me so.
So on Friday August 9th I went back for a blood test and it was negative again. I thought okay, my body played tricks on me, is this due to coming off the pill, or do I want it so badly that I’m imagining all this.
Well, negative is negative, so definitely not pregnant because I had asked how my hCG was and it was less than 1, so definitely not pregnant.
I accepted it and on August 11th my period was there. I thought, see, your body played tricks on you. So Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday I had my period. On Friday they were completely gone. But during that time my belly had already grown a bit and especially when I was done eating it looked exactly like I was pregnant. I even told my husband to take a look, it really looked like I was pregnant. I said I’ll do something about this belly after my vacation. I already had an appointment with the gynecologist for an annual check-up, so on Monday August 26th I went to the gynae. He saw a black spot and thought, this can’t be right. He immediately asked when I last had my period. I said August 11th. He said either it’s an early pregnancy or it’s a blood clot. So I went home with all sorts of thoughts. On Wednesday August 28th I told myself that if he already sees something in my uterus and it should be a pregnancy, the test should already be positive. So I went behind a pregnancy test and indeed, in less than a second, the test was clearly positive. So I called the GP immediately and could go straight in for a blood test. In the evening I was allowed to call if everything was okay. She said she didn’t understand, I have a 32-day cycle and now on day 18 already a positive test. It wasn’t a faint line, no, it was already as dark as the control line. The doctor also said this can happen, it must be that you ovulated directly and were fertilized directly. But the blood would bring clarity.
The hours passed. Eventually at 7pm in the evening I called the GP and he said clearly, congratulations, you’re pregnant, your hCG is at 6000 and so much. And I said, please, this can’t be right, and the doctor said yes, this corresponds with a pregnancy of 5 to 6 weeks. I don’t need to worry.
So I was completely turned upside down and called the gynae and could go for the first ultrasound next Friday. But if I calculate from July 9th to now, I should already be 7 to 8 weeks, so the ultrasound will only confirm.
So my experience, hoping you ladies can take something from it, and sorry for the long text.
