Lea meaning

Maria
I think Lea is such a beautiful name, but I'm hesitating because I also come across some weird meanings. Like 'wild cow' and 'someone who tries in vain'. It was also a bit of a strange person in the Bible. Now, I personally don't have much connection with the Bible, but my family is fairly religious. There are also nice meanings associated with the name. Would you place a lot of value on an underlying meaning?

I wouldn't place too much value on that. I do look it up for my own kids' names, but I think it's mainly important that you like the name and find it beautiful. I've never really looked up the meaning of someone else's name. Like if friends have a baby. If you think it's a nice name, I'd just go for it!

I also found different meanings for my son's name. But the meaning that resonates with me is what counts for me. So I've written down during the baptism ceremony what the name and meaning mean to me. You'll find more meanings for many names.

Lea is a beautiful name. Antelope is, for example, also a meaning and a graceful animal, so it's not bad to be named after it.
