Drops of blood 2 days after cleaning

Hi everyone,

We're now in round 3 and I had my period from August 10th to 15th. We had intercourse two days ago, and I'm currently in my fertile window according to the ovulation test. But today I had some abdominal pain and just a few drops of blood... Does anyone recognize this? I find it quite worrying, but maybe it's nothing... I'm quite a layperson in this area, hopefully someone recognizes this or can tell me what it could be.

Exciting, Jenny! A few drops of blood can come from ovulation, but it could also be harmless if a small blood vessel burst. Have you never had this before? And have you really seen the peak on your ovulation test strips? Having sex two days ago might be useful to do it again now? Otherwise, you might miss your egg! I put all the info in a text message so you can look back at it. Maybe a little drop of blood is your ovulation signal. It's handy to keep track of it, just like other things you see or feel. I keep track of my test strips, discharge, mood, breasts, and any other things. Good luck

    Hi Mila,
Thanks for your reply! I’ve never had bleeding between my periods before. Also, my tests only showed a faint line, so no peak yet. But I did have some mild cramps in the middle of my stomach. Yes, we’re going to try again today—yesterday was the plan but it didn’t work out due to circumstances. Hopefully this was an ovulation bleed! It’s really nerve-wracking. Thanks for your tips, I’ll check out a handy app and keep track of everything. Good luck to you too!

Thanks Jenny! Flo is a really nice app, I think! But what do you notice now from an egg?

Don't know if you were on the pill, but it could also be due to coming off it. Also, you can get a little bleeding around ovulation. I never had that before, but when we were trying for the youngest, we had it a few times.

@Mila, I don't notice much of my ovulation, which makes it hard to figure out where that blood came from.
@Moedertjuh, I haven't been on the pill for a year and a half now and have been using condoms all this time because I wanted to get rid of all that stuff from my body. So, did you ever have that too? Yeah, it worried me a bit. I took another ovulation test yesterday but still no positive line, which is pretty strange, and I keep testing. Sometime around Sept 5 I can take a pregnancy test, so fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed!

If you haven't had a strong positive on your ovulation test yet, maybe you haven't ovulated yet, right? Or do they always stay faint for you?

I haven't had a clear positive test yet either; the last two months it wasn't very dark either. But it's starting to get a bit stronger now, so maybe this month is the one. I'm keeping a closer eye on the OPK tests now. And we're doing it every other day. Do you use ovulation tests too? What's your experience with them, if I may ask?

Jenny, tip! When you're close to ovulation, test twice a day. I really miss it if I only test once a day because it can rise a bit and then drop off 24 hours later. That happened the first time, so now I do two tests and catch the positive right in the middle. Are you also keeping track of your discharge?

@Mila, oh that's a great tip! I'll start doing it right away from today. Well, I've been really careful since this month. And coincidentally, during a toilet visit, I noticed white, thick, mucus-like discharge..

It's nice that you're responding so enthusiastically?! Did you manage to make good use of this round's egg? If you've just ovulated (right?), I'd do two tests per day starting from day 10 for the next rounds if you're regular and have a 28-day cycle. I've got that discharge now too: between ovulation and my period... hopefully good news for us!

I thought my egg was gone then, but my tests weren't really dark yet. Yesterday I got a really dark line! And we had sex on Friday and just now too. So hopefully right around my egg. Then it's wait and see if it goes back down. You too, good luck! When is your ovulation?
