9 days overdue but negative test

Hi ladies,
We’ve been trying for our second baby for about a year now. My cycles are fairly regular (meaning: 29-34 days). I was expecting my period around July 28th, but it hasn’t come yet. I’ve done 3 tests this week, all negative. Today is day 37 of my cycle.
This is exhausting! Am I pregnant or not? Why is the test negative and why hasn’t my period started? I don’t get it... Has anyone been through this before?

I have no idea! How weird! It could be that your hCG levels are coming up late. Did you ovulate and do you know when? I had a missed period in February, but I was still on the pill then. The midwife said that can happen once. I had taken antibiotics and was under anesthesia that cycle, so it’s not really surprising.

@Floor yeah, crazy right? Could that produce hCG that late? I've never really heard of that before. No idea if I had an egg this month, didn't use ovulation tests last month.

Yes, it can happen; you often hear from women who test positive later than usual. I myself am also much later than normal this month, at least if I base it on ovulation, which happened on cycle day 18. Maybe because of the heat in the past few weeks. On the other hand, you're already 3 days past your longest cycle, so something must be off. That uncertainty is annoying, isn't it!
