ovary not visible

Hi ladies,
Has any of you also had the experience that one ovary wasn't visible on the internal ultrasound and/or MRI??
I'm going to have surgery soon for a large cyst. If they can't save this ovary and the other one isn't there, I'll have a big problem. It's possible that this one is still present due to pressure but hard to see. During the surgery, it will become clear whether I have this ovary or if I was born with just one
