Breakthrough bleeding, taking the pill

Hi,
I sometimes skip the pill for a few days and have never had breakthrough bleeding before. But now I do. I skipped the pill once and suddenly got bleeding 6 days before the break week, right after the second week. I’ve never had this before, not even during my pregnancies with my kids. It feels really weird, and I even had some period-like cramps. Does anyone else experience this?
