What to do if your husband suddenly says at 40+3 weeks of pregnancy: "I'm so done with your whining about your ailments. You wanted this kid, I didn't..."
This is our 3rd child and I'm handling the entire household alone. I've never asked him for help. He never goes to appointments or anything. I go out at night for the other 2. This morning I woke up with earache and a sore throat. And it became too much for me. Due to the heat, I slept little, and I'm completely overwhelmed. And out of nowhere, he suddenly says that.
I'm so angry, sad, and confused. Hormones? Or justified.. did I really whine so much? I keep thinking. Unwanted child? Could give birth at any moment and he thinks I'm a faker.. how can I even give birth with him next to my bed now without showing that I'm finding it hard. And then a new baby on my belly, and knowing that he didn't really want it..
Don't know what to say or do.. came so unexpectedly..
Really in a state.. divorce, refuse him at the birth? Or just lay next to me and ignore him?
What should I do? Hormones are taking over in decision-making..

Hi Tobie, if my husband had said that, I’d definitely have given him a snide remark! He was there himself when he put it in and got you pregnant! So that makes it his choice too. And on top of that, doing everything on your own is really outrageous! You two have a family together, and you should both be taking care of it. He really can’t expect you to do it all by yourself while being pregnant. Some help and concern are definitely in order for him as a man. How does he react when you say something or confront him about it?

I think you're staying very calm. Have you talked to him yet?

From your story, it doesn't seem like he's very involved or loving. Do what feels right for you.

If my husband had said that and meant it, he could have packed his bags right away. But it's easy for me to say that. It's important to find out if he really means it, and then act accordingly.

You're in a tougher situation. Wishing you lots of strength and courage.

    Big hug
