When to test?

Hi ladies..

Next Thursday is my expected period but I already have so many symptoms..

Stomach ache
Stomach cramps
Stabbing pains in the lower abdomen
White discharge
Tired

Now my question:
Have you ever tested 3 or 4 days before your expected period.. and was it reliable, and also in the evening or can it only be done in the morning?
I was going to test with a Clearblue..

    It's exciting!!
In principle, it should be possible to test. If you're pregnant, you can usually test quite early. The only problem is that you don't have certainty.

Early tests have a higher chance of false positives, and there's also a chance that your pregnancy hasn't been detected yet.

So, you could be pregnant even after a negative test, and not pregnant even after a positive test.

    Thanks for your reply, Nientje,

    Yes, it's definitely exciting!
Can I also do it in the evening, or does it really have to be with morning urine?

Well, if I'm not pregnant, I'll test again a few days later just to be sure.

Evenings are less reliable than mornings, and those 12 hours can make a big difference in hCG levels. But again, if you're already a bit pregnant, the chance of a correct test is quite high, even in the evening.

I also read between the lines that you just want to test and don't want to wait. I won't be the one stopping you :-)

If you don't have to be too strict with the little ones, I'd just buy a pack of 3 tests and get going tonight and tomorrow. I'd keep one for the day of your period itself though.

Okay.. maybe I'll wait until tomorrow morning too.
Yeah, waiting is not for me.. haha!

Indeed, I'll save one to test on my NOD or after that..
