Overdue and only just got a positive test

Hello ladies,
I'm on day 35 of my cycle today and my period still hasn't arrived. I've taken several tests using morning urine, but they all remain negative. My temperature keeps fluctuating between 36.5 and 36.6.
Since we're seeing a gynecologist, an internal ultrasound was done and two doctors confirmed that I ovulated on May 27th or 28th. So now I'm already 6 days late and still no period symptoms.
Has anyone had low hCG levels where a test only turned positive later? For the past 3 months, I've had a regular cycle of around 28 days.
Who has experience with this and what do you think??

Hi Suus, there can be several reasons. Which tests did you use? Some react to hCG only later on. If you had a late implantation, you might not have built up enough hCG yet. But it could also simply be that your cycle is a bit off. Or you were pregnant but it miscarried. Then it takes a while before the built-up hCG breaks down and triggers a period.

Thanks for your reply! I use that vd action because otherwise it becomes a pricey joke and they keep staying negative.
If it doesn't come tomorrow morning, I'm wondering if I'll do a Clear Blue with week indicator. I still have one lying around. It feels so weird because I haven't had any issues with delayed periods in the past 3 cycles. I'm really starting to worry now..

Hi Suus, I don't think Clear Blue will react then. Those are often even less sensitive. I have no experience with the Action ones, but I've used the Kruidvat ones (2 for €5). Those are very sensitive. Unfortunately, a regular cycle doesn't say much. It can suddenly be different for a month. I hope it turns out positive in the end! And if not, maybe get a blood test?

Okay, thanks. I think I'll just get those 2 for 5 tomorrow and then test again on Tuesday.

    Good luck!

Have you tested it yet? I'm curious

Tests keep coming back negative. Today I’m already 9 days late. I was curious what an ovulation test would show, and guess what: it’s been bright positive for 2 days now! I’m getting the blood test results this afternoon.
You often hear that pregnant women get a positive ovulation test. This happens because LH and hCG are very similar. But come on, if two doctors (via an internal ultrasound) confirmed that I did ovulate, how can I now be detecting another peak when I definitely didn’t have one? Pff, I’ll be so relieved once I know where I stand.
Are there any other women here who only tested positive after being 1 or 2 weeks late and turned out to be pregnant??

How crazy it all is, Suus! I hope the blood test results bring some clarity Maybe the doctors were off the mark and you're only now ovulating. Or your test just isn't positive yet! Really hard to figure out!

Hey Suus, I'm really curious how it turned out. Did you end up being pregnant after all?
