Ovulation test as pregnancy test experiences

Hi! What are your experiences with using ovulation tests as pregnancy tests? I'm mainly wondering if an ovulation test will always show positive when you're pregnant, even back then? Love

    Hi poezelieke,
I took an ovulation test during my second pregnancy. Not so much because I believed it actually worked, but more because I only had one pregnancy test at home and didn't want to waste it in case I turned out not to be pregnant That was last October. It was the day of my period and I took an ovulation test just for fun. So my surprise was great when it actually turned positive (even though I had read quite a bit that this often happens). I had mentioned and posted about it in the "brabbels" section of the period group. Almost everyone was enthusiastic and gave me the courage to take a pregnancy test. I was also really scared that it would still be negative. So it was for nothing My pregnancy test was also very positive!! I'm now the mom of a sweet little boy who was born at 27+4 weeks and fought incredibly hard given the circumstances, and has been home for more than a week now

    @hato
    That's so nice for you
Did you also use ovulation tests for your needs?

I should get my period within 6 days.
Is there still a chance I could be pregnant?
Or should I give up hope because the ovulation tests are so faint

I got pregnant in my 4th cycle. Used ovulation tests and checked cervical mucus in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycles.
In the 4th cycle, I didn’t use ovulation tests because I was on vacation, and I got pregnant

The chance is always there, I think, as long as you're not on your period. But you're driving yourself crazy if you keep doing ovulation tests. Try to find some distraction if you can. And if you still haven't gotten your period after 6 days, you can just take a pregnancy test right away!

    I'm really driving myself crazy...
    I'm truly mentally exhausted
    Waiting is so draining...
And the disappointment makes it even worse

Your tests are running out, so this is probably from ovulation. I always had a faint line throughout my cycle. Now I'm pregnant and, after I found out, I did an ovulation test a week later. That line turned very dark, much darker than the control line. Wait a few more days and if needed, do an early pregnancy test two days before your period, and then as needed.

I'm going to try not to think about it anymore.
The hope for this round is no longer in my head.
It's not healthy anymore. I feel it in my body.
I'm going to try to focus on other things.
    Trying my best.

Here’s one of my LH tests. It did start to rise, but the pregnancy test was also positive, so I didn’t really get any clearer picture from an ovulation test. The best option is just a pregnancy test. I wanted to test the theory that ovulation tests would be faster, but by the time you’re wondering if it’s rising, you could already have a positive pregnancy test.

Here’s a better one from my peak on 19 DPO. On 10 DPO I had a faint line on the ovulation test, but the next day I already had a line on the pregnancy test (kV 2v5). So the ovulation test did react, but it didn’t make me any wiser. Hopefully you’ll get some clarity soon! It’s just so hard to wait. I found testing just for that one day to take it out of my head more than worth it. The hCG strips are cheap anyway. That peace of mind was worth it.

CD19, that should be it! Duhh

    Thanks for posting the photos!
    Your peak is really clear
And clearly put to good use.
    Very nice.
I bought a pregnancy test now.
Tested 4 days before my expected period.
    And it was really negative...
I really want to test every day.
Still, I keep hoping. Getting myself a bit crazy.
I read so many different stories online.
Some who tested positive way after their expected period, and some way before.
3 more days until my expected period... And the days are going so slowly.
    I'll keep you updated here

What tests have you bought now? It's definitely still possible, 4 days is early. I think mine would have been negative too. I'm crossing my fingers, so exciting!!

Exciting poezelieke!!! My fingers are crossed for you

    The Red Devils got through!
    Round 4
    I bought 100 ovulation tests
Hope it hits the spot this round!

There are a lot of them! Good luck in the next round, and hopefully it hits the mark

Hi! I took an ovulation test and the second line was very faint. I'm already 3 days late. What do you think?
