Help! Got Ovitrelle too early!

Hi ladies!

Last Monday I went to the hospital for a follicle monitoring scan. It turned out I had one that was 11 mm. I injected 100 IU and they wanted to increase it to 125 IU because they saw the other follicles were too small. They sent me for a blood test and the result was something like 1000 plus/minus, whereas last week's results were very low, namely 400, and that's really like a drop in the bucket. So I got a call in the afternoon saying you can keep the 100 IU, something has started to grow, very nice! And you can start with ovulation tests, one in the morning with your second morning urine and the second in the evening. The next day (Tuesday) it was negative, and that day after (Wednesday) also! But on Thursday it was positive, I had the Clear Blue one and the one from Action and from Kruidvat and they were all positive! Even the cheap one from Action! I wanted to call them saying hey I have a positive test I'm going to inject, but it was Thursday and Ascension Day so they were closed! So crappy! Exactly at the moment when I had a positive test. By the way, she said on the phone that you have an appointment next Friday so the day after, but you only need to come if you have a negative test otherwise you can administer the Ovitrelle. So said, so done! I called them this morning to say I'm not coming because I've administered the Ovitrelle, they were happy, but then when she spoke with the doctor she said I want you to come anyway urgently, because the doctor says your eggs were quite small, they were only 11. I was like yes I understand but the doctor said that as soon as I have a positive test I don't need to come. Well and what do you think... I get there and she does an internal scan and what do you know....? She only sees now that I have 6 of them, 2 of 14 and 4 of 11...
She says you can decide for yourself, do you want to keep it going and wait 2 weeks with the risk for you because they will all rupture, only how many will fertilize I can't see and can't say now. Or you have another option namely skip this month and take a kind of morning-after pill. Ladies now my question I've asked quite a few questions but it seems like it's still not all clear to me or so... very weird haha.
I had intercourse yesterday (Thursday) at around 15:00 and 17:00, administered the Ovitrelle and had intercourse again today... is there a chance that my egg will still grow because of that Ovitrelle because after how long after injecting do they still grow? And if so, do you think the one of 14 mm will reach the minimum of 17/18 mm? Would be very happy if it becomes a twin, no problem, only now she sees 6 of them so 4 of 11 and those seem very strong to me if they fertilize.
Sorry for my oh-so-long story...!
Had to get it off my chest !

I don't have any personal experience with it myself. But it seems like there's an even greater chance of getting pregnant now. Yes, there's a chance of having sextuplets, but it seems like a missed opportunity to take something like the morning-after pill. It's double. What does your friend say about it?

Sorry, I don't quite understand your story... My husband and I want it on the one hand because we've been wanting kids for a while, but on the other hand there's that risk. But do you mean there's a chance of pregnancy? Yesterday they were still 14mm and 2, and the other one was 11mm, so it seems pretty strong to me that the one from 4mm would grow to 17 or 18mm? But I was also wondering about the one that was 14mm, because that was yesterday after I took my Ovitrelle! How much longer will they grow?

I can't answer that because I'm not familiar with it at all.

If there was no chance of pregnancy, wouldn't the doctor also not mention the morning-after pill?

No, you're right, otherwise she wouldn't have mentioned the morning-after pill. But my question was more about whether the egg(s) could still have grown since yesterday when they did the internal ultrasound and saw those 6 eggs measuring 14 and 11. Because the day before that, so the day before yesterday, I had the Ovitrelle injection, and an egg only lives for 12 to 24 hours. And we had sex on Thursday, the same day. So that's why I'm asking if it's possible that it grew further after yesterday, because being pregnant with a 14 seems unlikely to me! My head is completely full, I don't understand anything anymore... Do you know that feeling where you have so much info and so many things you're trying to do right, and then this happens! ????

No experience with Otrivelle and the like, but the patch is to prevent your ovulation by using a bunch of hormones. I wouldn't do that so quickly myself, you're already getting so many hormones. Plus, I once used the patch and found it really unpleasant. I was completely thrown off. I assume that if all those eggs still need to release, you'd have to apply Otrivelle again? In principle, the chance that all 6 eggs really ripen well, get fertilized, and also implant properly is very small. But yeah, that's a decision you two have to make. I think I'd take that gamble, especially if getting pregnant is difficult.

Isn't it an option to not have sex anymore and first see what the other person does? Maybe they'll disappear again, and then you've wasted time and worried for nothing.

    Hey ladies,

No, it’s like this: last Monday (27.05.2019) I had to go to the hospital because they do that every Monday to see how far along I am, since I wasn’t responding so quickly to the Gonal-F. I started with 50, uh, then nothing grew. Then 75, nothing again. Then 100, and when I went on Monday the 27th, she already saw some growth. She said she saw 2 eggs at 11 mm. I had to give blood, and they saw that the 100, uh, had done its job well. But she said this time she didn’t want to see me on Monday; she asked if I wanted to be seen the same week, which was on Friday 31.05.2019, but she did say to come back on Monday. She said I could start the ovulation test the next day, so Tuesday, and just keep injecting Gonal-F 100, uh. Tuesday negative, Wednesday negative, but Thursday it was clearly positive! I wanted to call them to say I’m going to take the Ovitrelle shot, just purely for my own peace of mind, but what do you get to hear...? An answering machine because it was Ascension Day! So stupid!! I had just... But then I thought back to our conversation, and she said if you have a positive test, you take the Ovitrelle, and then you don’t need to come on Friday. I called on Friday to say I’m not coming because I’ve taken the shot. Then she said that was fine and she was happy; she said, "Now let’s hope for the best!" But then she went to check the system (this isn’t my doctor but another one who was supposed to treat me), and she said, "I said that on Monday you had 2 eggs at 11 mm, so it seems to me it’s too early." I said, "Yes, I understand, but your colleague said that as soon as I had a positive test I could shoot immediately." Then she said, "Well, I still want to see you and as soon as possible! So come in anyway." When I came, she saw that I had 6 eggs, 4 of which were 11 mm and 2 were 14 mm. She said that because you’re injecting too many hormones, it’s possible you’re getting a false positive... I was like, "And now what?!" She said she didn’t want to prick you; you have too many, my ovaries are full, she said, and it’s going to hurt, and she didn’t want to take that risk. And then she came up with the story that you have 2 options: either let it continue, so you do nothing for 2 weeks now and wait it out! Because there’s a chance of multiples, but it could also be that only 1 becomes pregnant. It’s a risk. She said they’re all going to pop anyway now to see which one gets fertilized. I took the risk, or I would have to take something like a morning-after pill. I thought no, I’m going to continue, because how big is the chance that I’ll get a 3, 4, 5, or 6-lings? The 4 were 11; how could they grow so fast? I had already taken the Ovitrelle, and that works according to the instructions from 24 hours onwards, and the egg only lives that long anyway. If it’s a 2-lings, it’s welcome with open arms! Now just waiting. Sorry ladies, once again for such a long story. You know what it is, do you know that? I ask the doctor so many questions, but then I ask them to you guys, as if I forget or something, it’s so weird. But does anyone have experience or know if there’s a chance of pregnancy since I shot the Ovitrelle too early because the egg only pops at a minimum of 17! And I had 14 on Friday. And on Thursday at 17:00 I took the Ovitrelle. And about intercourse with my husband, yes, I had intercourse on Thursday at 15:00, 2 hours before the shot, and again that night. So I did have good sex...
