I just can't get pregnant.

Hi everybody,

I've never done this before, writing on an online forum, but I think it's probably the only place where I can find people who understand what I'm feeling. We've been trying to conceive for 18 months now. I just heard that my little sister (accidentally) got pregnant, and it all became a bit too much for me. Instead of dumping my own grief on her (I don't want to give her a bad feeling about her pregnancy), I hope I can share some of my monthly sadness here. Next week, we're going to a clinic to get everything tested. I hope I don't get any fatal news.

Lots of love
Luna

    Hi Luna,
I can totally imagine how you must be feeling right now!! It's so sad that it hasn't worked out yet, and it's such a downer to hear that your sister accidentally got pregnant. Even though you probably wish her well (if it's desired).
My husband and I have been trying for almost two years now, and unfortunately, it still hasn't happened, so I know how it feels!! The disappointment every time... It's just really bad!
Last September, we had my husband's sperm tested. Unfortunately, it turned out that his sperm wasn't quite optimal. But since we're both young, they told us to keep trying on our own. And last month, when it still hadn't worked out, we were finally allowed to go to the hospital, but they sent us home again to keep trying on our own because everything with me is fine.
I'm cheering really hard for you that everything is okay with you guys and that it happens soon!
    Love,
    Chell

    Hey Luna,
That's really unfortunate that it hasn't worked out yet.
If you'd like, you're welcome to join the mmm part 7 forum. There, several women who are going through the medical maze are writing, as well as those who have already gone through it.
I find it nicer to write there than in the nod forums because the group is smaller and there are no women who are already pregnant at one month.
I'm over two years further along with a second child. No medical reason was found for why it took so long, and I'm in the first round of IUI.

    Hang in there!
I went through 21 rounds (20 months)! Had all the tests and nothing was wrong with us.
We were supposed to start with IUI in June but totally unexpectedly, last Sunday I suddenly had a positive test in my hand for the first time in my life. Still in shock. I'm now 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant.
    So anything is possible!
Stay positive! I'm rooting for you that the tests are good! Good Luck!

I know how hard it is myself. It took us almost two years for our son. We took Clomid for a while, but had to stop temporarily due to overproduction. During the waiting months, I wasn't really focused on it and almost gave up. My period only came every 3 months or so, so I didn't think it would happen naturally. And then suddenly, a positive test! That little guy is almost 2 now! And another bit of luck: the second time went much faster. I had a very regular (though slightly long) cycle of about 35 days, and it happened after 5 months. Unfortunately, a miscarriage, and then it happened again after 2 months. Another miscarriage, and bingo the next month! Now 17 weeks pregnant with our daughter. Miracles really do happen. Keep believing and hoping, no matter how hard it is!

I know that feeling. Many people around me are getting pregnant... sometimes you don't know how to react...
I've been trying myself for a while now, but it's really quite difficult.
Somewhere inside, you don't want to deal with it because it should work out, but unfortunately, disappointment after disappointment.
I'm trying to keep my spirits up, but it's easier said than done.
I just started doing ovulation tests. So hopefully this will work better...
