Congrats, girl!!!
That's amazing, a twin pregnancy—did you expect that? (Does it run in the family or something?)
I'm not pregnant with twins myself, so I can't really chat with you about it.

Wishing you both a wonderful and smooth pregnancy!

Kind regards, Dani

Oh, too bad there aren't any girls expecting twins right now!
Maybe it'll happen later, I'll just wait patiently...
Twins are definitely in our family; on my husband's side, there's at least one in every branch, and on mine it's a bit less but still there...
    Cheers!

First of all, double congratulations A twin pregnancy, how nice!!
At my first ultrasound 3 weeks ago, they saw 2 gestational sacs, but could only find 1 baby and 1 heartbeat. I had some bleeding at 7 weeks and it's very likely there was a 2nd pregnancy that ended prematurely. The gynecologist referred to it as a vanishing twin (I had never heard of it before), but couldn't say for 100% sure. He put it in my file like that and also on the form for my 20-week ultrasound, multiple pregnancy is checked?
I had another ultrasound last week at 10 weeks and there was 1 baby visible. I still find it a weird idea that I was probably pregnant with twins and still only get 1 baby.

Wishing you a very nice pregnancy!
    Love, Sandra

ohh that's so sad Sandra, it sounds like a really tough idea that one of your babies is no longer there.. I think you must be so happy that there's still 1 left, but on the other hand you're sad about the other one.

At first you don't know any better than thinking there's just 1, but when you're expecting 2 you really can't do without the other one anymore and you really don't want to lose them, I have to admit I'm quite scared of that too... I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant now and looking forward to Nov 23 because then I'll have the second ultrasound.. I really wish I could go see them every day!!
    gonna google vanishing twin, curious...
good luck Sandra and have a nice pregnancy too!

    Hi Missliss,

I’d never heard of it before, but apparently it’s quite common. My gynecologist told me that they see it more often now than in the past because they do ultrasounds much earlier in pregnancy these days. The bigger your baby gets, the less of the other gestational sac you can see, and after a few weeks, you sometimes can’t see it at all.

In my profile picture you can see the 8-week ultrasound where that extra space is visible.
On this photo you can see it written there. http://static1.brabbels.com/images/foto/2653.jpg
Honestly, I’m not really sure what to make of it.
I was a bit sad when he said that there were probably two babies and only one remained, but that feeling passed fairly quickly. I’m very happy that my baby is doing so well, and I assume my body had a good reason to stop the other one.

Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy too
