I feel guilty

Hi mamas,
I've been feeling really guilty for a while now, but I haven't dared to say it out loud. I have a 2-year-old toddler and a baby on the way. I'm currently on leave and find the days with the oldest home alone really tough. I just dread a new day. He's constantly fighting. Even when I take him somewhere, it's a big drama. When I was still working, I was just happy that I could go to work. But I feel really guilty about that now, because I love him so much and he's very sweet, but also just a typical toddler.
Does anyone relate to this? And will this feeling go away?

It's not your child, but his behavior that you can't stand. Maybe it's exacerbated by your hormones. Try not to feel guilty, try to find a way through it. How old is he?

Unfortunately, this is part of your toddler's age. I'm 2 and I say no! And believe me, it really gets better! Reward your toddler for the good things they do.

Thanks for your replies. He just turned two. It's true that I find his behavior annoying, not him. That already helps me a bit. I can usually put things in perspective, but pregnancy is weighing on me quite heavily, so everything feels like too much lately.

So relatable! And it's so hard to focus on the positive and reward that when, thanks to the hormones, you only see the negative My little one is almost 4 and sometimes I really have to walk away from him because then I can't stand up for myself anymore, or well, it feels that way. And then that wonderful maternal guilt kicks in.

What my kids are very sensitive to is how I feel.

If I sing and dance a lot on a day, they catch that. If they listen well, or if I really consciously and clearly tell them what's good and nice about listening, "Mom is proud of you," I see them beam. My kids are 14, almost 13, 4, and over 2.5 years old. It works great at every age!

Thanks for the tips! I really think my mood is having an impact. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks!
