Hesitating between a Greek or African name

Katherine
We're really torn between a Greek or African name for our 4th baby

We're already the proud parents of Shaniqua, Jahzara, and Yerodin
These names are on our list..
Tupac (Brave Warrior) -- African
Tyrin (God of Peace) -- African
Thano (Immortal, Kind) -- Greek

What do you mean by throwing myself away??

Yeah, if you don't get that, then you can indeed name your child Tupac.

I have to be honest, I don't get him either, but it's mainly for my time.
I would go for Thano but find it a difficult one. With Tyrin, I have to think too much about Tyrion from GoT.

I think it's a racist comment but I'm not really bothered by it.
We also think Thano is a super beautiful name, but since our other kids have African names, we're wondering if we can give this little one a Greek name..

No, nothing racist about it. It's meant like: if you name your kid Tupac, you should throw yourself off a bridge / you're worthless, that's what they say in Brabant. I get it... I immediately think of the rapper Tupac Shakur, and that's indeed weird.

Oh seriously, never heard that saying before. I'm also from above the Waal
Personally, I wouldn't choose the name Tupac because a lot of people will still think of it and you'll always get that reaction.
As a layperson, I wouldn't distinguish Thanos as being African or Greek. Tyrin is also nice. If it fits you guys, then it's good, right?

I'd think Tyrin is a Celtic name. Never thought it was African.
How do you pronounce it? Tie-rin or Taaj-rin?

    You pronounce Tyrin as Tie-rin

    I'd go for Tyrin.

    I'm going for Tyrin too!
