Get a second opinion at a fertility clinic. And ask for a referral letter from your GP; 2 years is a long time.

Falca, I had another appointment with the GP this morning and he sticks to his point that we need to be patient. Does anyone know if I can make an appointment for a referral at another GP practice?

This uncertainty and feeling of being "incomplete" is going to break our relationship again. Every month when I get my period, you see the sadness grow in my husband's eyes. And my trust in my own body decreases...

I looked up what you can do. You've already done step 1, so ask your health insurer for advice. They have a duty of care, which doesn't mean they have to cover costs without a referral. But they can help you find another GP and who knows, they might cover it in this case without a referral.

My (GP) doctor refuses to refer me to another doctor for a second opinion. What can I do now?
When your doctor refuses to give you a referral for a second opinion (second opinion), you can do the following:

Talk to your (GP) doctor again. Clearly explain why you want the opinion of another expert.
If the (GP) doctor still refuses, you can look for another doctor yourself for a second opinion. Check if your health insurer covers the costs for a second opinion when there is no referral.
You can ask your health insurer for help in finding another doctor.

If this difference of opinion causes a conflict between you and your (GP) doctor, you can look for another (GP). You might find another (GP) who can help you get a second opinion.
