Pregnant or just the flu?

Good morning lovely ladies

I'm really torn on whether I might be pregnant, yes or no. I could definitely take a test, which I think I'll do just to be sure, but I'd really like to know if anyone recognizes this.

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend a few days before my ovulation and on the day I "think" my ovulation was.

Then a few days before my expected "period," I had some bleeding. At first, it was just dark blood when wiping, and then for 2 days I had a little blood loss, though I did have pads on, but it wasn't as heavy as usual. Normally I'm definitely on my period for 5 or 6 days. Now, after 4 days of on-and-off bleeding, there's nothing more.

Now I've been extremely tired for 3 weeks, but so tired that I get dizzy, and I've been sick at home for a week. I can sleep all day, and if I just go to the shop or vacuum and mop, I'm completely exhausted. I sleep through the whole night for 12 hours straight, which I never normally do!!

I went to the GP, and my blood pressure was on the low side, so they told me to keep an eye on it for a week and come back if it didn't improve. Then I read online that your blood pressure can also be lower at the beginning of pregnancy, and you can be extremely tired and clearly show signs.

I have these symptoms intermittently:
- Dizzy and tired
- Sometimes sharp pains in my nipples and a heavier feeling in my breasts
- Nauseous with waves and a full feeling in my stomach
- Terrible mood that scares you. I can spontaneously snap at my mom, for example, for absolutely no reason.

Sorry for the long story!!

If I have to believe the calculation, I could now be 7.5 weeks pregnant..

What do you think? Does anyone recognize this?

As you said yourself, you can only be sure by testing

    Hi Keesj!
The symptoms you mention do indeed sound quite like pregnancy. However, our bodies can sometimes play tricks on us, especially when you really want a baby.
The only way to know for sure whether you're pregnant or not is to take a pregnancy test. As you've already described, you should be about 7.5 weeks pregnant by now, so you should get a clear positive result at this stage, and you can test at any time of the day. I also think it's important to take a test as soon as possible, since you'll need to adjust your lifestyle accordingly—things like what you eat, drink, take as medication, and whether you drink alcohol or smoke.

    Hi ladies,
    Thanks for your replies!!
I think I'll go for a quick run after work!!
I'm not actively trying to get pregnant, but if it happens, it's welcome.
I just find the bleeding ("period" really strange..
Has anyone here experienced bleeding and ended up being pregnant anyway???

Keesj, that could have been the implantation bleeding. I'm curious to see your test results!

    Hi mamavanJ,
I read that it's usually just a few drops, which is why I find it quite strong that it was an implantation, even though it was earlier than usual and less than my normal period.. I find it a bit exciting now!!

I'll just take a peek in my crystal ball!!!!

If we all shout "no, you're not pregnant," do you believe that? Would you feel at peace then?

If we all shout "yes, definitely pregnant!!!" would you assume you're pregnant?

It could be either, as you already suggest testing. Why haven't you done that yet if you're unsure?

Hi! As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m going to test too... I just wanted to know if anyone recognizes this and has experience with possibly longer-lasting implantation bleeding.

I understand that you guys can’t know for sure, I was just curious about other ladies’ experiences. I’m at work right now, so unfortunately I can’t run to the Kruidvat (drugstore) to check.

Keesj, I also had implantation bleeding during my second pregnancy. Now I only had a toilet paper full of reddish blood when wiping. This can also be bright red. Exciting though, good luck! Let me know what the result was?

Orchidea: oww, was that a lot? Or just a few little drops?? I'm racing home at 6 after the kruitvat, and as soon as I'm home, I'll test. I think I'm imagining it all and just have the flu.. but I still feel different than usual... I'll let you know right away!!
  10. Orchidea #11

Keesj, totally right! Ehm, it was quite a lot. But it was a one-time thing and then it was gone. I think you can also have it for a few days, and it can be confused with a period.

Orchidea ohhh ... exciting, isn't it? Try not to think too much about it, but it's still pretty hard!! Time flies by... I think I'm going to treat myself to a dead sparrow?? But who knows! The world is full of wonders! I'll be home around 7, then I'll let you know right away xxx

I'm waiting for your message with bated breath. I hope it's good news for you!!
  13. Anonymous Guest #14

Just tested .. have to wait 2 more minutes but it's Omo white so I don't think there's suddenly a line ... unfortunately ?????? It should have shown up if it was like that with the number of weeks I thought I was at.

    Thanks for your messages !!
I'm going to have a little cry now and think about why my body is acting so weird ..
  14. keesj2305 #15

Oh, I see I wasn't logged in anymore.
But I see the message above ..

Unfortunately negative ???? I'm quite sad about it .. but okay! We'll continue cheerfully, it was too good to be true, of course!

Thanks everyone, and to those who are pregnant, enjoy it !!!
  15. Orchidea #16

Oh, that's so sad, Keesj. Indeed, then he should have already popped. Who knows, maybe in a few weeks you'll have a positive test!
  16. keesj2305 #17

Yeah, no rush at all. If it happens, it happens, but we're not actively tracking fertile days or anything.
I'm just feeling so disappointed because I've been feeling so different and secretly thought I was pregnant...

Well, thanks anyway! Who knows, maybe we'll catch up soon!
  17. Orchidea #18

That's not a problem, right? ;-) It happens when you least expect it. Good luck!
  18. Mama vanJ #19

Oh, that's so sad, Kees! And for me, the implantation was quite bloody, if you know what I mean...

Still haven't gotten my period yet... no PMS symptoms at all... *sigh*
