Off to the check-up again tomorrow.

Indeed, another check-up tomorrow.
I'm curious to see how our little girl has grown. It's been two weeks since the last growth scan, so I think they'll do another one tomorrow.
Of course, I'm also looking forward to seeing how my blood pressure is. I think it's fine—I haven't had any complaints apart from a nasty cold.
And of course, I'm curious to find out if it's true that our girl has dropped down. With my lower belly and the pressure on my pelvis, it pretty much has to be.

    Hi Gerda,
I'm curious about your check-up! Our girl is doing well despite the sugar, but we'll keep monitoring calmly!

    Hi Gerda,

Good luck today, I hope everything is going well with you!
I went yesterday and everything was fine, blood pressure was even lower than last time, baby was in a good position, heartbeat was completely fine, amniotic fluid was good too.
    Always nice to hear, right?

I find it a bit strange that I’m never weighed at the hospital... it used to be the case at my GP’s practice.
Is that not the case with you either?

    Kind regards, Dani

@ Ju: I'll definitely let you know!

@Kim: In principle, isn't it actually the case that with gestational diabetes your baby is heavier than "normal"? Or does that not always apply??

    Best, Gerda

@Gerda Yes, it's always exciting to see if the little ones have grown a bit more, if your blood pressure is okay, and if they're on their way down now. Good luck!!!

@Dani Great to read that everything is going well!!! Always nice to see I'm never weighed either. I usually just tell them what I think of my weight, haha. So in that way, they can still keep an eye on it.

    Love,
    Anne

I'm not going to ask what my weight is.
It's going fine like this, I do want to weigh myself once at the end though, but I don't think it's too much that I've gained weight.
It feels "safe" this way without knowing (I've had some weight issues for a while, so this way I'm happily burying my head in the sand).

In two weeks I have another GUO appointment and I need to go to the gyn and VK in the zh every two weeks.

Hi Gerda, normally you have a high chance of having a big baby then. That's not the case for me! I have a little girl at the bottom of the growth chart! But that's not a big deal, it's actually a sign that my girl isn't having any trouble with it! I only have another check-up on Friday next week, but yeah, it still feels so long! Otherwise, things here are up and down. I had some contractions yesterday but they didn't persist, so back to no contractions! In the hospital, they don't keep track of my weight either, but at home they do it very strictly every week!

@ Dani, good that the check-up went well! And keep resting and carrying on, okay!

    Geez, what an afternoon.......
I had to be at the hospital by 1:00 PM for the lab and CTG, then another appointment at the clinic at 1:30 PM.
I knew the schedule was super tight (let's just say: impossible). The CTG (where you have to lie down for half an hour anyway) is done on the maternity ward, and the lab is at the clinic (and even with an urgent request, you still have to wait there). But I had gone there a bit earlier.
In the end, I didn't get to the maternity ward until around 1:20 PM . I walked by the gyn on my way from the lab, but the door was still closed, so they were still on their lunch break.
One of the nurses on the maternity ward called the gyn while I was doing the CTG, which wasn't a problem.
I finally got back to the clinic at 2:10 PM, handed in my ticket, and went to the waiting room............ While I was sitting there waiting, suddenly one of the gyns walks away and then one of the secretaries confers with a few women who are also waiting: there's an emergency case.....
Tough, I had to wait an hour and a quarter two weeks ago for the same reason, but there's nothing else to do. I do understand.
Waiting, waiting, waiting, and everyone else around me gets called in, and finally, by 3:50 PM, there are no more pregnant women in the waiting room except me.......
I went to the secretaries to discuss whether it would take long or if I could make an appointment for tomorrow or something, I'd already been in the hospital for about 3 hours! I was tired, needed to take my meds, etc.

In the end, it turned out there was a mistake: I was already crossed off the patient list! So I could have sat there waiting until Christmas.......!
Then I was finally called in quickly, and since I had brought my meds, I asked for a glass of water to take them with.
And then came the next disappointment: my blood pressure was too high again. My diastolic was 105......
The CTG, lab results, and growth ultrasound were fine, but yeah....... that blood pressure.
Now the medication is being increased, or rather doubled, and I have to go back for a check-up Saturday morning, because they feel that check-up can't wait until Monday.
I finally got home at 4:45 PM. How do you fill an afternoon?????????
    Ugh!

    @Gerda,
Hey girl, what a nasty situation.. I understand that your blood pressure went through the roof because of that...
Mistakes happen at work but this isn't fun anymore...
I sometimes don't get how it goes and that they don't take into account the pregnant woman, they see you sitting there etc...

Saturday morning another check-up, I hope they don't write you off again. What idiots.
Enjoy your evening a bit, girl, and well, luckily the growth scan was good...

Love and a hug from me, you're tough..

    @Gerda,
    what a tough day, girl.
They say missing someone is human, but I can't really relate to that statement.
    Hope Saturday will be better.

    Keep us posted, girl.

    Love, Tammi

Oh my goodness, girl, what a hassle! Let's just hope it's the circumstances that caused your blood pressure to be too high again, and that everything will be okay on Saturday.

    Hey ladies,

So, Saturday I went for another check-up. Another long wait. I had to be there at 10:00 AM and got home at 1:15 PM.

The CTG was fine, and the lab results were good too. The platelet count had dropped a bit (which can be a sign that the liver is struggling), but the normal range is between 150 and 450, and I had 234, so that was still okay.

Blood pressure is a tricky story. One nurse first measured it while I was sitting. My diastolic was 100. But apparently, the official way is to lie on your left side, with your right arm at a 30-degree angle. Because my diastolic was too high while sitting, she also measured it lying down, and then it was 85.
I think it's all fine, but I'm not lying on my left side all day!

Anyway: I was allowed to go home again and will have to make an appointment for next Wednesday, and then the whole routine will be repeated.

Also, I spoke briefly with one of the nurses from the practice where I was first under care. She thinks they won't let me go past 40 weeks due to the blood pressure. So it would mean that labor will be induced in about two weeks (according to her, there's still a chance that's possible, despite the C-section 8 years ago!) or maybe another C-section after all.
I've reached the point where I don't care anymore whether it's a C-section or not, because it's becoming less enjoyable now, and I don't really trust my body's signals anymore. Because I feel fine (in the sense that I don't have the symptoms associated with hypertension), but is it really okay??

But well............. let's wait until Wednesday first. Maybe I'll hear more then.

    Best, Gerda

    @Gerda,
yes girl, it doesn't stop there with you either.
I'd say just let it come to you as long as you're feeling okay for now.
And don't worry too much, okay? Because this isn't good for you or your baby.

Hopefully you'll know more on Wednesday.
Take care of yourself and try to enjoy the moment.
    Keep us updated.

    Love, Tammi

    @Gerda,
You're almost due, girl, aren't you sick of this already?
I can totally imagine you getting tired of it all...
Isn't it time she comes out now?
Why do you have to wait until Wednesday? You sound really exhausted...

Hang in there, and I'm thinking of you...

    Love, Ju

Wow, what a story! Good luck with your final preparations... Hopefully, your blood pressure will improve a bit in the last few weeks.
