what kind of car?

Since we're all women here and know our stuff, I'm curious what cars you all drive.
I'm currently driving a small old Polo, but it really needs to make way for a practical 4-door. I'd love a Renault Clio since I've always had one before and found it to be a nice car. And I think the trunk would be big enough. But I'm not sure about that. My boyfriend is quite car-obsessed and is convinced that all parents in the world exaggerate about how much stuff they always carry, so he doesn't think the trunk is that important. Whaaa! So it's quite the decision, getting a new car.
And therefore, what car is practical and fun?

    Hi Molly,

Your friend shouldn't underestimate what you need to bring for a baby, of course. It does depend on WHAT you're doing, but if you're going out for a day, you'll definitely need a stroller, and when they're a bit older, you won't get by without a camping cot with a blanket/sheet for a day trip. You'll also need a diaper and feeding bag, obviously.

Do you know anyone you could borrow a stroller from? (I see you're 6 weeks along, so I assume you don't have a stroller yet.) You could take it with you when you're out and about for errands and the "fitting" appointments.

    Best, Gerda

    Hey Molly,

we have a car! And it's truly indispensable for us, especially now that the little one is on the way!!
We really like to go away for a weekend and believe me... The car is packed to the brim! I also find it just so convenient! If you see some nice stuff that's bigger, everything fits in there and you don't have to call around to see if someone wants to drive for you! I love my car! I think your friend will come back to it and a trunk with a kid is definitely handy! ha ha...

    Love, Lynn

I’ve got a new Polo myself, and we want to get a different car for my husband, but we’re going for a real family car like a Senic or Mazda 5.

Great idea, Gerda! I do have some friends with baby strollers. We should definitely do that. I don't really want such a big pram, but maybe I should consider a travel system after all. We also like to take short breaks and will definitely go camping with the little one soon. Then we'll definitely need a caravan!
I'll wait for a few more responses.

Oh, not every woman knows a lot about cars, that's true, of course but there are some who are into it too mostly here I started with a small Polo that I tuned.. and sold it for a lot of money, then moved on to a bigger one, thinking this one would last for a few years.. yeah my **** also had so many issues and the garage backed out, so I went for a VW Golf 5 3-door, which is still quite sporty and it was the same brand.. but after so much trouble with it, I was fed up with VW! My boyfriend is a total car freak and especially into BMWs, he already had his 4th BMW and never had any problems, so I started looking for one too and now I drive a BMW 318 4-door, incredibly spacious trunk and still lots of room in the back!! Now my boyfriend drives an M3, the sporty model of BMW, and he's put it up for sale for our little girl, and then we're going to look for a BMW 335 Touring for when we go away on weekends..
I should say though, my car is lowered, has tinted windows and rims, but it still rides comfortably and smoothly

    Love

We had a C1 (such a nice little car) and a Fiat Punto. When the second one came along, we bought a Skoda Fabia, and it’s really a great evening car, runs on diesel, no road tax, fuel-efficient, and it’s quite spacious . The reverse sensors are also ideal .

We had an Alfa Romeo GT and a Toyota Corolla. With one kid, that always worked fine, but since we go to the campsite every week in the summer and regularly to a Landal Greenparks cottage in the winter, we decided on a bigger car now that a second baby is on the way. We got rid of both cars last week and bought back a Toyota Verso. (Our friend also has a motorbike and a company van, so having two private cars parked outside was a bit too much.) There's easily enough room for a stroller along with all the stuff we normally lug around

Super car, I must say, although I've only had it for a week. It has cruise control and front and rear parking sensors. Really ideal!
