Pregnant after a C-section

Hi,
We became parents to our little boy Vince* on June 28, 2018. Unfortunately, our son passed away after 14 hours due to CHD (a hole in the diaphragm). I was very ill after giving birth and spent 5 days in the postpartum ICU with heart failure and fluid in my lungs. They are debating between pregnancy-induced hypertension and Mirrorsyndrome because our son was so sick. Now, after 8 months, we would like to try for a brother or sister. We have received the green light to try again at 9 months from the professors at UZ Leuven and Prof. Spaanderman in Maastricht. I had also heard about this for a year before. What are your experiences with a pregnancy within a year after a C-section?

That's so awful what you've been through!
If you've heard from multiple specialists that you can go for it, DO IT!
Other people's experiences aren't relevant and have absolutely nothing to do with your situation; you also don't know exactly how long it will take to get pregnant again.

I wish you lots of strength and success, hopefully you'll be pregnant soon

If your gynecologist says you have the green light, then your scar has healed enough to handle another pregnancy. I got the green light 6 months after a C-section (my baby also passed away) and it was successful on the first try. I didn’t experience any problems during the pregnancy. I also gave birth vaginally afterward without any issues. My little one is now 2.5 years old and healthy.
That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll go the same way for you, but it’s my experience that went well. The only thing I struggled with was that I couldn’t be carefree about being pregnant anymore and had trouble enjoying it. I can imagine this might feel heavy for you too.
Wishing you lots of strength and success.
