Ties, Job, Ivo, Kai, or Will(em)

Hi everyone,

We have a shortlist after 22 weeks and are finding it hard to choose a name for our first baby. We both prefer 2-syllable names. My husband has a Dutch name, and my name is easy to pronounce in both Dutch and English.

For our son, we have a few names in mind that we like, but they don't quite give us that 'wow' feeling. We're looking for a short (ideally 1 syllable), tough (Dutch) name. Suggestions are welcome! One thing to note: our last name starts with an 'S', so we're consciously avoiding first names with an 'S' so our son doesn't end up with a weird monogram

I really think Kai is cool and cool!
I also think this is the most favorite from your list!
I also find Ties and Ivo quite nice.
Job is okay, not bad at all.
And Will(em) is not my taste.
Good luck with your choice and enjoy your pregnancy!

Love them all! Only not Will, but Willem is okay.
Here are some other options for you:
    Jibbe / Joes / Bent / Brent / Jan / Pepijn / Niek / Wiek / Loek / Lars / Luuk / Frank / Faas / Maas

Thank you so much for the suggestions and for voting... We're leaning towards the top 2: Ties and Kai, but with a slight preference for Ties because this name has been on our minds for so long.
Yesterday I realized that Jim could also be a nice name.. it's tricky making these choices!
N - I also like the suggestions you're making - especially Brent. My husband likes Luuk, but I know a Luuk that I don't really like... and secretly I do make associations with certain names and people

This week, a Kai was born in our neighborhood to a couple we know... Since we were torn between Ties and Kai, it'll most likely be Ties! Thank you so much for the help and for thinking along with us
