Pregnant after a miscarriage.

Hi everyone!

Got a positive test again 4 days ago. Gosh, I'm so happy... but also so scared.
I've just processed the miscarriage and now I'm pregnant again, but here's the thing...
I'm noticing very different things compared to my first pregnancy. I know not every pregnancy is the same... But I have a lot of cramps, a bit of a tense lower belly, and back pain.
Last time I felt "more pregnant" right away than I do now... Of course, I run to the toilet with every little cramp because I'm afraid of bleeding again. Are there other women who had belly pain etc.?

Big kiss

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I totally understand you! I had two miscarriages before I had my daughter. After the second miscarriage, I got pregnant right away. Oh, how scared I was. I also had a lot of cramps, like period-like feelings, which means the uterus is growing, but I found it really scary too. I had bleeding until week 15, and they never found out where it came from.
I didn’t get back pain until later in the pregnancy.
I also noticed differences in my other two pregnancies.
I’m crossing my fingers that this little miracle will be an easy one!

    Thanks for your reply, sweet.
Yeah, the carefree feeling is gone ! I did read that this can be due to a growing uterus. Maybe this is how a “healthy” pregnancy feels, but my heart still sinks a little each time.
I’m so happy for you that after taking 2 such blows, Mother Nature has given you a beautiful girl! Hopefully, she’s in a good mood with me this time too????

I totally get you, girl! I’ve had two miscarriages in the last six months and I’m pregnant again for 5 weeks now. I keep testing, trying to calm myself down, terrified of every trip to the toilet or little twinge. I don’t know where to look for answers and would rather just sleep until I have some certainty. I really hope this time it’s meant to be for you. How you’re feeling right now is completely normal, though.

Phew, I'm so glad I'm not the only one...
I think I'll only feel truly at ease when I can feel him/her myself. Until then, it's going to be a trial. And I've only experienced this once...

I'm already lighting a candle for you too, hoping for a healthy baby this time!

First of all, congratulations! And I hope you have a smooth pregnancy!
Fortunately, I've never had a miscarriage, so I can only imagine how much grief and especially uncertainty such a thing brings.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I also often had cramps and a period-like feeling in the first few weeks. I was really scared that I might get my period after all, but it turned out to just be the uterus growing, which causes exactly that kind of feeling.

Well, that makes me feel a lot more at ease!
It is indeed a bit like mild period cramps and it comes and goes. Probably my uterus is growing then, yay! :-)

Congratulations, girl! Cramps, being scared, checking your string or toilet paper is so relatable! Unfortunately, I’ve also had a miscarriage. Take it easy and have faith, girl!

Mamavaneenvlinder I totally share that insecurity (and unfortunately many others with me) with you! I had a miscarriage in November. Had one pregnancy then, and got pregnant again after that. Now at 9+4. So exciting! Already had 2 ultrasounds, and at the last one they even moved the due date forward by 3 days, and each time a beautiful beating heart. Still, I remain anxious and would almost prefer if we could check every day, but I guess everyone has that thought Still feeling unsure and now just 2 more weeks to wait before my next ultrasound. So thrilling. But I try to hold on to the fact that my belly is already pulling so much (I literally feel like an elephant sometimes, so who knows if that's already the case). And you just have to get through it day by day.

I'm rooting so hard for this pregnancy to bring you a beautiful baby and will keep you posted

Well said, San, and same to you! Is your bump visible yet?

Thanks for your super sweet reply, San. By the way, we're from the same year!

I really hope these "discomforts" are normal for a healthy pregnancy I was only 10 weeks with the last one, so I don't know when I'll finally feel at ease... you have so little control, right! And then you try to tell yourself "no stress, that's not good" stories.

Anyway, I'm really glad everything's going well for you! You truly deserve it, keep us posted!

Mereltje haha I sometimes feel like an elephant myself, but I think it's not that bad from the outside I'm not super chubby myself either, so maybe that's why. Plus, I think you'd like to walk around with a baby bump so everyone knows you're pregnant
Mamavaneenvlinder well, speaking of stress, I just finished a year of sick leave and I'm now building up my work hours again. I'm still on sertraline, hence the scans and hospital visits. And then I get so nervous before an ultrasound and think, doesn't this medication help with that? hahahahaha. But anyway. I think we all experience 'stress' in the beginning, especially if something went wrong last time. I'm not saying it'll happen again this time. So chin up and enjoy the nausea, cramps, terrible discharge, difficulty going to the toilet, and not forgetting feeling like an elephant already haha

    Hi!
I also know how you feel. Let me make a long story short: last April, I lost our little boy at 17 weeks. Three months later, to our great surprise, I was pregnant again, but unfortunately, that ended in a miscarriage. This time, I didn’t have any “cramps” at first. A month after the miscarriage, I thought I had gotten my period (I bled quite heavily for 4 days). Still, I kept feeling weird and pregnant, and the cramps continued. A few days after that “period,” I took a test, and yes, I was definitely pregnant. Meanwhile, I’m now 34 weeks pregnant, and everything seems to be going well. The first few weeks are always very nerve-wracking, especially if something has gone wrong before, but things often turn out fine in the end. I hope this pregnancy goes perfectly for all of you! Love, Mami5

    Hi,
I'm new here. I'm joining Krabbels because I have a lot of questions. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant, but I've had severe stomach cramps for the past 2 days, and also strong cramps on the lower right side. I even took 1 Dafalgan. I also had a curettage in November at 8 weeks of pregnancy. I'm feeling really anxious.
