Three days of a thick line

Hi,

I've been using ovulation tests this month to check if I'm really ovulating. And indeed, I do feel it every month. But... how come I've had a darker or just as dark a line for three days now, as the control line?! (By the way, the lines on the first two tests were also darker than what you can see in the photo now.)

How far along are you in your cycle? And are these extra sensitive tests?
Could you be pregnant? An ovulation test also reacts to the hCG hormone.

It's the extra sensitive tests indeed.
I usually always have a regular cycle of 28 days. It can vary by 1 day but that's rare.
Until last January! Then I suddenly had a short cycle. About 19/20 days. The period seemed to come out of nowhere. Normally I have some twinges and a nagging feeling the day before or a few days before. But then absolutely nothing. And the first day was quite heavy bleeding and then almost nothing more.
My last period (Feb 10) was very short (3 days) and quite light.
So that's weird. And never happened before.
Seems very stubborn to me that I'm pregnant though.
I have had twinges in my stomach since last Saturday but I always get those around ovulation and that normally lasts only 1 day.
But since Saturday until now always some weird twinges in my stomach and a gurgling feeling.

It could be that these tests are too sensitive for you. Try using ones that are a bit less sensitive. If they still remain positive, I’d suggest doing a pregnancy test just to be sure.

Oh no! Never knew tests could be that sensitive. I'll just get some different ones next month.

Yeah, if your LH hormone levels are always a bit higher than usual, even outside your peak, you'd naturally want to get the true peak out. In that case, it's better to use the less sensitive tests. For example, one woman always gets a faint line outside the peak, while another has a completely white test.

I think the peak was really on the 19th.
I still had one test left, so I just did it today.
And again, the line is just as thick as the control line.
I had expected the line to be a bit thinner by now...

Then I’d just throw a swan heart rate test at it. Because being that long, that dark isn’t very common. He could easily pick up quite a bit of hcg

    This is today's test....

I’d take a pregnancy test. Given your story.
  11. Moedertjuh #12

That's quite odd, I'd suggest taking a pregnancy test first. If it's negative, then use less sensitive tests.

    Totally unusual, indeed.
And I understand the advice to take a pregnancy test.
    Only.....I always feel my ovulation.
That was also the reason to start using ovulation tests now. To see if what I feel is accurate.
It's strange that normally I feel the ovulation quite intensely for about half a day and then it's over.
This time it started last Saturday and was very intense on Tuesday.
And according to the tests, Tuesday was also the peak.

I must say that I still have a nagging feeling in my belly from time to time.
But that's also the reason I feel I'm definitely not pregnant.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have had a peak last Tuesday.
    Seems like it to me.......

Yeah, really strange, like your egg wanted to make it a bit harder to jump due to circumstances. Just keep pushing, eventually it has to happen.

My tests have also been super positive for 3 days in a row. Today is day 2 ^^ I'm using the ones from Kruidvat.

Tried a test again today. After my husband's insistence.

And it's really positive again! 5th day in a row

Sorry, but I'd still take a pregnancy test. What's holding you back?

    Ugh...

We've been trying to get pregnant for years now....
Hospital tests showed nothing wrong. Everything was fine.
Two weeks ago we just made an appointment to start the process again, so everything kicks off in two months.
It's probably just a huge coincidence that it's happening now. I can't believe it and I really, really, really don't expect it.
But anyway, my husband is going to get a pregnancy test now....

I'm curious, Kiek. I had this experience a while back with Clear Blue tests too. They kept giving smiley faces for days. Unfortunately, it turned out not to be a pregnancy. But I hope you get a positive test result.
