    Tough, but I wouldn't give it to my own child.

    I wouldn't choose it myself because "beer" is the term for a male pig, so I'd personally be worried that the child might get teased for it.

    I think it's pretty cool. You could also go with the official name Berend and the nickname Beer.

    I think Beer is cool.
    If you still like Beer but want something less obvious:
    Artan, Baer, Björn, Jonah, and Orsen also mean Beer.
