Mening Dies of Diem

Hi there!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
We have a daughter and are expecting a son now.
We find boys' names quite tricky and prefer something that’s not too mainstream but still has a nice Dutch vibe.
Our daughter’s name is Pip.
What do you think of the names Dies or Diem?

Not my taste, but that's obviously personal. I'd rather hear Ties or Siem. But you might find this too standard.

I think Dies is the nicest, but I don't find either of them fantastic. Here are some other options for you:
    Pip and...
Doeke Boet Joes Dries Tijm Sal Sil Sol Soy Jent Jens Bor Ted Borre Fedja Benja Ben Dante Douwe Fons Jos Lex Fos Faas Maas

    That's the most fun.
    But not really beautiful...
    But maybe
Ries, Gus or Mas could be an option?

Both are lovely! They both remind me of the Latin word for 'day', but still nice names. Original!
I think I find Diem just a little bit nicer.

    Diem is cuter than Dies.
    I personally find Dim cuter.
    Other ideas:
Fijs, Jeen, Jim, Ward, Kai, Sebas, Midas, Jurre.

I think Diem is sometimes pronounced like you'd pronounce Carpe Diem. Or at least there's some confusion about it. I think it's nicer than Dies!

People often pronounce this as 'die-es', I think, because of the term Dies Natalis.
