Constant feeling sick and working? And how?

Am I back with my whining again...

I'm about 6 weeks pregnant now and have been constantly nauseous and vomiting non-stop for days...
I've tried everything when it comes to food but nothing works...
I've been lying flat for days because as soon as I stand up or drink a sip too much, blegh. Everything I've eaten in the past few days now gives me a terrible aversion. I'm hot all day. I feel really, really sick mweehh...

But how is this supposed to work with going to work?
If I don't work, no money comes in, and that's especially important right now...

How do/did you handle it?
And any tips from someone?

I can't really relate to this, but I can imagine how awful and annoying it must be. Have you asked your midwife about it? It could be that you have hyperemesis gravidarum (something like that, not sure if I spelled it right). In that case, I think there's not much you can do except wait out the pregnancy But I'd say call your midwife; you're not the first and definitely not the last I'm sure she has some tips, including about possible medication for nausea.

I did indeed just call the VK because I'm really at my wit's end.
They were a bit startled and told me to call my GP right away and to ask for Emesafene.
I'd rather not use medication, but this isn't good either, I can't keep this up forever...

Ginger tea helped me a lot. And I mean fresh ginger. For the flavor, I also added lemon. Wishing you lots of strength with the nausea.

I’ve basically been lying in bed or on the couch all day for the past week and a half.
Nauseous every time but without vomiting, and I barely ate anything either.
So I lost 2 kilos (which is a lot for my figure...) but after that week and a half, things suddenly got better.
I’ve been eating normal amounts again now.
I tried eating some fruit often, but my energy level was really 0.
To motivate you: mine eased off at 7 weeks.

    Good luck!!

Oh really, Limo, I truly hope things work out the same for you...
I'm really at my wit's end...
Still can't work, so no money, and that's exactly what we need most right now.
I don't know how to provide for my family anymore...
Sorry for all the complaining, but I'm really struggling...

The rules for continuing to pay during illness and pregnancy are different from regular sick leave.

Not if you don't have a permanent job and already receive benefits...

Don't you just have the flu along with your pregnancy?

I could only eat cucumber and toast for the first while.

I had that too from week 6 to about week 12. I also used Emesafene suppositories and honestly, it worked amazingly. I could eat everything again
