Ovulation test 8 days before due date

Hi ladies,

I've read a lot about ovulation tests showing a light positive with a possible pregnancy. So I did an ovulation test 8 days before my expected period using first morning urine, and this is the result. Is this normal within the reading time?

Thanks

Yeah, ovulation tests often just give you a negative if there's no ovulation (or it hasn't happened yet).

Why test so early with tests that don't tell you anything? You're just confusing yourself! Hopefully you'll get a positive pregnancy test in 8 days (!).

yes, it's also silly but I had a few left, thought I'd give it a try

8 days before your period is due, there’s basically no implantation yet. I had those faint lines throughout the whole month around ovulation But on 11 dpo I did an ovulation test, which showed a fairly clear line. On 12 dpo, I used a regular pregnancy test from Action, and it showed a clear line So it can happen, but you’re a bit early

This was my ovulation test when I found out I was pregnant. But it was definitely on time.

I had a bunch of ovulation tests after my D&C. I figured it’d take a while to get pregnant again, and I turned out to have cysts on my ovaries (which went away later). So when I got symptoms again in the first cycle after my D&C, I started testing with both pregnancy and ovulation tests. The OPK showed a line a bit earlier than the pregnancy test. But it wasn’t much of a difference; they were both Clearblue tests. Still, 8 days before your period is really early though—maybe you ovulated earlier and implantation was quick. I felt a sharp stab around 6 days after ovulation in the evening, and on 8 DPO I had a very faint line that got stronger each day.

I get it, I hear you, Roos!
I won’t deny that I also wrote all sorts of things down about a potential pregnancy while I knew deep down it really wasn’t possible. But seriously, try to relax and wait for your period!

Thanks, Roos! I now have a beautiful 4-week-old daughter.

I had a miscarriage before this one. Five days after ovulation, I had muscle pain and some cramps, and on the day of implantation, I saw some old blood when wiping. After work, there was nothing more. I was convinced it was due to the miscarriage and didn't want to waste my only Clearblue pregnancy test. That's why I tested with an ovulation test instead.

And from the ultrasounds, it turned out that implantation had occurred at 5 DPO. So it can really happen very quickly.
