What kind of work do you do? - Pregnancy forum

Mel
We're trying for our first baby.
My partner leaves early in the morning and gets home late.
I work in healthcare, a tough job with different shifts.
How we're going to juggle everything is still a question.
I already find it hard to manage the housework now. So with a baby, it's definitely not going to get easier. But our desire for a child is really strong.
So I could definitely use some tips

My husband and I both work 5 days a week now. We don’t have kids yet. I’m a teacher and will probably cut back to 3 days when we have a child. He’ll keep his 5 days but can shift some hours to evenings or weekends, so he’d be home once during the week. That leaves 2 days for childcare. I’m not sure yet whether I’d prefer a foster family, daycare, or something else.

My guy works from home as an investment advisor and I work in hospitality. I used to work in healthcare but stopped because I had to work late shifts. I didn’t know then that I’d end up in a job where I have to work until midnight. ????
It’s not exactly ideal having a crying baby when clients are at home. We’ll see how we’re going to handle that...
