First period after Implanon, wanting kids

I had my Implanon removed on December 10th after almost 3 years.
We're trying to conceive.
I've been using ovulation tests.
On Jan 6th my ovulation test was positive.
Naturally, I had sex twice around that time.
Now, last Saturday the 19th, I had some spotting.
Sunday I had severe abdominal pain and even more bleeding.
Monday (the 21st) I had a little bit more blood, then nothing after that.
(Total over 2.5 days: 3 full tampons)
I assume that since I haven't had my period for so long, there should be more coming?
This seems like too much for implantation bleeding.
So I don't think it's pregnancy.
Although I was fertile right after the removal.
Has anyone had experience with implantation bleeding?
And has anyone had experience with their first period after removal?

I have no experience with it, but in terms of timing, it fits more with a period. I'd go with that assumption and maybe take a test in a few days just to rule it out, so you can be sure.
