Gabriel or Raphael?

What do you think of the name Gabriël?
This was already the name I had in mind for a boy for a long time. But now that it's coming closer, we're doubting again.
Raphaël is our second choice.
Other suggestions are also welcome. We like classic names.

    I think Gabriel is really beautiful and sounds very sweet and caring.
    Raphael also sounds really nice to me and comes across as quite tough.
    Both are lovely names.

    I find the spelling of Raphaël so weird, not my thing. I think Gabriël is nicer, also easier (more common).

    Why not just Rafaël? I think that's prettier...

    Gabriël is less pretty.

    Yes, Raphael with an f instead of ph works too. Originally, Raphael was our first choice, but I wouldn’t like it if they called him Raf as a nickname.
    Still a bit of time to hesitate...

    Big chance that'll happen (Raf as a nickname), with both spellings.

    I think Raphaël is a pretty standard spelling, you know. F is just a simple replacement for ph. You're not going to mind if his friends or whatever shorten it in the future, right?
    Both are great names.
