Hi ladies.
Today 5 days past ovulation and already 3 negative pregnancy tests.
I'm getting a bit discouraged by this.
I feel terribly emotional, my breasts are sore but otherwise I have no symptoms.
My period doesn't seem to be coming either.
Could I have just missed a cycle?
Or could I still be pregnant even though I've tested negative so many times?

    It could also be a late implantation. The best thing is to wait a few more days and then test again. It could also be that your body is playing tricks on you...

    If you were really 5 days past your period, you should have gotten a positive test by now. Do you know when you ovulated?

    With late implantation, you'd still have had a positive test since implantation happens a few days before your expected period; otherwise, you'd just get your period.

    So it's possible your cycle is just longer or that you ovulated later than you thought. But if you used ovulation tests, you should know roughly when your egg was released.

    Clautjuh, with my oldest, I also only tested positive one week after the NED. It also depends on how quickly your body produces hCG. With my youngest, I tested positive just one day after the NED.

    That's rare, by the way, since tests nowadays already pick it up at 15 mIU/ml. So you probably weren't a week past your period yet, but your ovulation was later, and likely your implantation was later too. After implantation, you're actually quite quickly above that 15 mIU/ml mark.
    But generally, if you really know exactly when you ovulated, e.g., by using ovulation tests, you should be able to test positive around your expected period date. If not, most people get their period.

    Clautjuh. I was actually a week past ovulation at the time. So it could still happen... the dating scan had confirmed this back then...

    So yesterday I got my period.
    Now I'm thinking about making an appointment with the gynecologist...
    I have 3 kids from my previous marriage and always had nice regular cycles after stopping the pill.
    Now I've been on the pill for 7 years and my cycle is a mess.
    26, 25, 25, 24, 26, 24, 25, 22, 29 days
    Before that always a nice 28 days.
    With the oldest I got pregnant after 5 months, the middle one after 4 months, and with the youngest I didn't even get my period after stopping the pill – I got pregnant right away.

    Now with my new boyfriend, who doesn't have kids himself, we've been off the pill since June with no result and no nice cycle.

    That's a bummer, Jessy! Maybe try using ovulation tests? And it could also be that your body needs to get off the pill.

    We're also 5 days overdue. Test done. Doubtful. Going to the GP tomorrow.

    Chris, I really do see a plus sign! Maybe test again in 2 days? HCG doubles every day, after all.
