We're not big fans of really common names. But of course we also don't want our child to get bullied. What do you all think of the name Rocky?

Congratulations! Sounds fun, but I have no idea if it's a boy or a girl..

Thank you! It would be for a boy!

I don't find those movie names so great. But well, it could be.
  4. Alexa Guest #5

Ah okay! I have to say, I think it's nicer for a boy too.
I don't think he'll be teased, but it's indeed a unique name that you might have to repeat or spell out sometimes.

    Well okay!
Only too bad when people shorten it, because then you get "rock" and that sounds like the clothing item "skirt."

I like the name Rocky for a girl, but not for a boy. I think it would quickly be seen as weird/different for a boy.

    Not so super...
    I like Rox better...
    Or Lex, Dax, Dani

    Congratulations!
I think it’s cute for a playful 6-year-old, but not for a man in a suit with a serious job. You know what I mean?

Really super fun! I also think Rocket is really cool.
  10. Anonymous Guest #11

No, don't do it, indeed. A man with a suit and a job idea... that's really not what you want, okay.

    Congratulations
I'm not a big fan, but I definitely don't think he'll be bullied for his name!

So cool!! Really awesome, it's something different from all the boring-ass "unique" names that are so unique that they're actually quite common.. get what I mean haha. There will definitely be enough people who'll look weirdly at such a name, but I'm sure a man in a suit named Rocky will stick in your mind more than a Jan, Tim or Bart ;-)

    Super fun!

You have to decide for yourself how you're going to name your child, but my association is that it sounds more like a name for a Rottweiler.

You have to decide for yourself. I gave my kids names that I liked. Two of my children have names that my family doesn't find pretty. Fascinating.

What do I think of Rocky? A dog's name, a name for tough guys. But again, fascinating.

I don't really like it, but it could work as a name. I also think it's more of a child/animal name.
  17. Anonymous Guest #18

I don't think it's a nice name for kids/people. Indeed, it's more of an animal name that's already been mentioned. But do what you like!

We're also debating whether to name our son Rocky. I think there are indeed a lot of people who don't like it. But I believe that once they get used to it, they'll eventually find it a really nice, original, and tough name. It's always exciting to give your child a non-standard name.
